It is the 21st century but being a woman means you're constantly at risk of being attacked. Women who travel know this more than anyone. Traveling via cabs and hiring cabs have had some intriguingly brutal assaults against women which make them even more cautious to board any means to travel. This TikTok video shared by @brennalina is going viral with the hacks and precautionary steps she takes to mark her presence in any stranger’s vehicle.

The video goes on to show Brenna leaving her signs of presence deliberately while traveling in a car to make sure she is traceable to the investigative authorities in case anything goes wrong with her. The video shows her hands doing the work and leaving her hair and fingerprints around her. The background score is an adaption from @starlings original upload on the social media site of TikTiok which depicts the clips of women from across the movies while the voice goes, “Oh, I love being a woman.” As the lines are spoken in the background, creator Brenna on TikTok tried to show the irony in it as she attempts to pluck her hair and leave it on the platform of the care and proceeds to leave her fingerprints as she touches the windows and handles of the car backseat while the car speeds on the road.

The video went viral with many women relating to the content as they comment how the video is spitting facts. TikTok user @Brief.candle.727 comments, “The saddest part is that this isn’t even to help save us. It’s to help catch them after,” which gained several likes, while another user @ reallyrux comments, “Set your Uber name to a guy's name. It will look like a dad/boyfriend/boss ordered it for you, thus you have someone waiting for you,” to let other women take steps like these to save themselves from mishaps.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Brenna reacted to the attention her video got by saying, “The majority of women who commented were supportive and positive, while the majority of men were dismissive or rude. This post has millions of views and it really drove home for me how little men understand about how different life can be as a woman and how we have to think and behave differently to feel safe,” she explained.
It is indeed sad, that in the age when women are coming forward fearlessly to contribute to the development of our society feel unsafe outdoors and look forward to such hacks and advice to keep themselves safe. This not only questions the conduct of our society but also about the continuous mental struggle and calculations women go through on a daily basis.
