The woman apparently noticed a familiar birthmark on the bride's hand and recognized her immediately.
There are very few instances in life where one can be happy and horrified at the same time. Figuring out your mother-in-law is actually your mother is one of them. In a strange turn of events, a mother-in-law ended up realising that her son's bride was actually her long-lost daughter after she noticed the birthmark on her hand, reported the Daily Star.
At the wedding in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, on March 31, the woman was shocked when she noticed a birthmark on her new daughter-in-law's hand, which was similar to her lost daughter. According to local media reports, the woman approached the bride's parents to ask if they adopted their daughter over 20 years ago. The family was shocked by the question as it had been a secret for so many years but they revealed that they had found a baby girl by the roadside a long time ago and she had been with them ever since, reported the Daily Star.
On hearing this, the overwhelmed bride apparently burst into tears. She described the moment as being "happier than the wedding day itself" as she had been so desperate to know her biological family. The problem however was that it would mean that she had married her own brother but seems like fate was in her favor. It was further revealed that the groom was also adopted and therefore there would be no objection to the marriage.
According to reports, the woman who was grieving the loss of her daughter had adopted the boy after giving up hope on ever finding her. She had searched for years to no avail but she would have never guessed that it would be the very son she adopted who would lead her right back to her daughter.
The bride was initially concerned about marrying her elder brother but after her long-lost mother said she had no objections to the marriage as they aren't biological siblings. The bride was relieved and went through with the ceremony. All of the guests who came to the wedding heard about the doubly joyous event and sent their best wishes to the couple and the newly reunited mother and daughter reported the Daily Star.
