Woman Who Married Her Best Friend's Dad Doesn't Care About Their 23-Year Age Gap | "I Feel Like I’m The Lucky One"

Sometimes, you can't help who you love and for this couple, they didn't care about anyone's opinion but each other's.

Love isn't always the easiest to find. No matter how hard we look, it eludes us but every now and then, it likes to appear in the most unexpected and surprising situations. There are times those aren't always considered ideal by other people. And that is what happened with a woman who married a man who was not only double her age but was also her best friend's father. 24-year-old Becki Price had found her best friend in Catherine Lott. What she didn't know was that, years later, she would fall in love with her best friend's dad, Blue Price, a retired carpenter, and then marry him.

The two had met just a year after Blue's previous marriage had ended. "Catherine and I were best friends. We met through work. I met Blue through her and the rest is history really," Becki said, according to Metro UK. Before they knew it, the couple fell in love and dated for nine years. But their journey wasn't easy. At first, they faced a lot of criticism for the fact that not only did they have a 23-year age gap between them, but that now 41-year-old Becki was only four years older than now 64-year-old Blue’s youngest child and he had grandkids as old as Becki’s children.

After Becki's father, Graham who was 68 (roughly the same age as Blue), suddenly died from a fall, the couple decided to exchange vows and at the same time, share a message with their harshest critics. "I love him. He is funny, very funny. I think he’s amazing. He’s so witty and jokey," Becki, who was previously married once before, said. "Blue and I used to get funny looks from people in the street but the age gap has never bothered us. I lost some friends definitely after getting together with him because they found that weird."

"So I lost my dad and that’s why we decided to get married. It was actually his wish. He kept saying 'Come on, get married' and so, life is short, and we got married soon afterwards. We are happier than ever now," she added. As the two were getting married, they had 200 of their friends and family celebrating with them. In fact, Becki's kids and Blue's grandchildren get along very well too.

But Becki isn't the only one who feels so confident about their relationship. Blue mentioned that he always had a connection with Becki after meeting her in 2006, according to Mirror UK. "My daughter is 37, she is almost the same age as my wife," he said. "The negative comments don’t bother me one bit. Words don’t hurt me. I don’t care what people say. I know what I have. They don’t really know what I have. Becki used to get comments like 'Why are you with him?' or 'He’s just an old man.'"

"I feel like I’m the lucky one. I don’t care what people say. We enjoy each other’s company and always have. Life is too short, so you have to enjoy your company and surroundings," Blue added. "I’ve been quite a positive person. My glass is always half full rather than half empty. We just hit it off. Age never came into it, not at all. This is the longest relationship I have ever had."
