Siti Zainah, 25, gave birth to a healthy baby girl last week in the town of Cianjur in West Java. Siti told local media that she was in her living room when a gust of wind apparently blew across her house. "After afternoon prayer, I was lying face down, and then suddenly I felt a gust of wind enter my vagina," She reportedly said. Siti then went on to explain what had happened, she began to experience pain in her stomach 15 minutes later and says that she could feel it expand. Siti was rushed to a community health clinic, where she gave birth to her daughter. The news of her birth spread quickly around the town and the story went viral on social media.

"I went to the location with the sub-precinct chief and district head. The mother and baby are in a healthy condition and the birth process was normal. The baby's gender is female and she weighs 2.9 kilograms," said Eman Sulaeman, director of Cidaun's community clinic. Eman added that it is likely that Siti had experienced a cryptic pregnancy i.e the woman is unaware of her pregnancy until she goes into labor. Following the birth, the police visited Siti's house to investigate. "The point is that we want to straighten out the confusing news about the pregnant woman who gave birth in a way perceived to be unnatural. We don't want this matter to foster wild rumours among the public," a police spokeswoman said.

Last year, a British mum-of-four shared a similar experience, the only difference being that there was no 'gust of wind' in this case. Grace Meachim, then 32, was shocked when she gave birth to her baby girl in a toilet after four negative pregnancy tests. She was unaware that she was 37 weeks pregnant as she had no visible baby bump, had taken her contraceptive pill "religiously" and still had regular periods. Grace and James Meachim, 34, were set on having just three children, the surprise baby i.e the fourth, Sienna Meachim, was a very unexpected surprise.
