Prince William "Furious" At Harry's Megxit 'Insult' To The Queen, While She Wants To Move On From The Couple

The Prince felt his brother's response was "insulting and disrespectful” to their grandmother, sources claim

A lot is happening within the Royal Family especially after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle agreed to do the "tell-all" interview with Oprah. Sources claim that the supposed rift between Prince William and Prince Harry has worsened after the former was left "shocked and saddened" by the latter's behavior over Megxit, reported Mirror UK

Prince Harry and Markle faced criticism for the statement they made after the royal family confirmed that the couple would be stripped of their patronages. Phrasing from their spokesperson, the couple apparently said, "We can all live a life of service. Service is universal”. The statement has been branded "petulant" by royal insiders.
The Sunday Times reported that sources close to Prince William claimed that he felt his brother's response was "insulting and disrespectful” to their grandmother, the Queen, and described him as being "furious" about the perceived slight. “You don’t answer the Queen back — it’s just not done,” a source said.

The Duke of Cambridge is apparently hopeful that the damage can be repaired, despite his brother deciding to move to another country permanently. It’s still raw. He’s very upset by what has happened, though absolutely intent that he and Harry’s relationship will heal in time," A friend of William said, according to The Sunday Times. Harry and Meghan wanted to retain their formal roles but were told that they would have to relinquish the posts after talks with the Queen and senior royals. The couple "crossed the red line" in deciding to walk away from the monarchy, a royal biographer has said, following the announcement.

Insiders claim that the Queen wants to move on from Meghan and Harry to the 'Magnificent Seven' i.e Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Prince William and Kate, Princess Anne and Prince Edward and his wife Sophie who she hopes will “put on a united front” to herald a new dawn for the monarchy, the Sunday People reported. Author and Biographer, Angela Levin says the Queen has been a "patient woman" but she is "devoted to her sense of duty" and the protection of the royal family.  "In the end, her sense of duty is more important than grandchildren or children or great-grandchildren. She wants to keep them close as a family, but they cannot push their luck too far," Levin commented after claiming that there had been concerns at the palace over how "increasingly escapist" Harry and Meghan were becoming.

"(The Queen) doesn't want the royal family's name to be tainted in that way and this, I think, crossed the red line. She lets her children and grandchildren do what they want up to a certain extent and when they overstep that, she comes down," Levin further said. When asked about the future relationship between the couple and the royal family, she commented, "I think it's very difficult indeed. I don't think it will be bonding. I think (Harry) is more loyal to his wife. He adores Meghan and she is his priority. But you can't have it both ways, you can't be half in and half out. This is one chapter in a very long story, and we don't know what's going to happen." She then added, "I hope that maybe this new baby, now that Meghan is pregnant again, will help make some sort of bond, but we shall have to see."
