Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. More than just having fun, it is also about feeling connected with God and thanking him for all the great things you enjoy in life.
Christmas is about festivities, food, drinks and a lot of gifts for many of us. However, it is much more than that. It signifies the birth of the Lord who was born to bring joy, happiness, and redemption to mankind. Long Long ago, a star pooped up in the sky. It led three wise men and shepherds to see the baby boy born at the manger. The baby boy born to Mary and Joseph then grew up to direct the world to a path of righteousness. Therefore, while we enjoy drinking wine and eating pies, cakes, and chicken, it is also important to connect to the Lord. A small prayer of gratitude is the quickest thing you can do. Remember the dear ones in your life and pray for the destitute.
Here are a few different ways praying could make your Christmas a merrier one.
Christmas reminds you of the wonderful family that you have. Agreed, coming together for the holidays can lead to fights with your siblings and flying tempers, but it can also remind you of the strong bond that you share with them. Praying with your loved ones is a way to strengthen that already existing bond. It helps you and your family grow in love and will also allow you to forgive any mistakes. Moreover, when you pray for others as a community, its power amplifies and will bring happiness and healing to many.
We often believe prayer is all about asking God for his forgiveness and blessings. However, when you cannot find the right answers in life, take some time to close your eyes and immerse in the deep silence. By doing so, you take your mind to a better place where everything may appear simpler and more peaceful. It allows you to feel the presence of the almighty and his everlasting love. This prayer will give you the strength to sail through the roaring oceans and it will give you the answers to anything that disturbs your heart. When you give ear to the lord, you will hear his voice for sure.
“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray” (Psalm 5:1, 2).
Every prayer is the gateway to positivity. When you close our eyes in prayer, you believe that the Lord is listening to us. This allows you to open your heart and display your vulnerabilities without shame. When you do this, you are left with peace and positivity. Your heart is relieved and you are free of every self-doubt that held you back in life. You realize the importance of being a sensitive and empathetic human who believes in a hopeful future. Added to that, your faith in God is reinforced.
When you feel you are disconnected from God, say a heartfelt prayer that will help you reconnect with God. When you desire from the heart, you will be able to connect to the heavenly power on a much deeper level. If you do not know how to say a prayer, be like a child. Utter the words that comes to you with doubt. When you do that with devotion and sincerity, you will find what you might have been searching for.
"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Luke 11:9, 10).
Though we might be enjoying all the great things in life with our family and dear ones, we often take it all for granted. We forget the personal and materialistic privileges that we enjoy on a day to day basis. Praying makes us realize these things. It makes us feel grateful for what we have and teaches us to be satisfied with what we've earned, both in terms of material comforts and the relationships we've formed. Moreover, it helps us enjoy our blessings with a hopeful future.
Prayer gives us the assurance of a better tomorrow and makes us believe, God will take care.
1. Thank you God for the riches and goodness that you have blessed me with. Thank you for my family and the love we share.
2. Help me be the person you want me to be. Let me be light in the lives of the people around me.
3. I thank you for all I have today and I know you will take care of me all the days of my life.
