Trouble In Paradise? Harry And Meghan 'Are Clashing Over Baby Shower,' Claims Report

There have been many conflicting reports about Markle's baby shower, the latest being that she and the prince, who "rarely lock horns" are "clashing" over having one

Meghan Markle's baby shower for her first child Archie back in 2019 was a grand event attended by many of her A-lister celebrity friends including Amal Clooney and Serena Williams. The £330,000 ($469138) event remained the talk of the town months after Archie's birth. However, things are different this time around. Since the announcement of her second pregnancy this year, there have been conflicting reports with some claiming that the Duchess is planning a similar or perhaps a grander celebration while others say that she is conflicted, given the very different world she finds herself in two years later, reported Mirror

According to Mirror, US Weekly had claimed earlier this week that the Duchess did not want a shower at all. She apparently felt that there had been "too much strife" in the world lately due to the Covid-19 pandemic and there are more important issues to focus on. On the other hand, Australian celebrity magazine WHO claimed that the couple has conflicting views regarding the baby shower, with Meghan wanting a party of some kind to take her mind of all that they had been through while Harry wants to avoid the attention that the previous shower drew.

The unnamed source told WHO, “Meghan and Harry don’t lock horns much, but they struggled to get on the same page over their little girl's baby shower. Meghan argued that she deserved a party. They’ve been through hell and back escaping England with Archie and she’s starting to feel very settled with a good core group of girlfriends with kids around her.” The individual further claimed that Meghan is hoping for a private party with her mum and a few close friends, reported Mirror.

None of the speculations made about the couple have been confirmed until now. According to experts, it is only understandable if they choose to keep future parties and events private as they are already facing immense backlash for the comments they made about the royal family in public. Many critics have accused them of being "attention seekers" and "insensitive spoilt brats" who "lack consideration for the royal family" that is still mourning the loss of Prince Philip.

Omid Scobie, the author of Finding Freedom, revealed in a Channel 4 documentary that the palace didn't like the idea of Meghan having a baby shower when she was pregnant with Archie. "I remember speaking to a palace aide at the time who rolled their eyes. They were horrified that something so common was happening within the House of Windsor," Scobie said before admitting that the idea of a baby shower was "as far from British tradition as you can get". Ingrid Seward, a royal author went on to describe the shower and celebration as being "trashy" at the time, reported Mirror
