Tom Hanks is one of the most lovable, kind, and down-to-earth actors in Hollywood who remained true to his image after making a newlywed couple's big day extra special. The Oscar-winning actor crashed the wedding of Diciembre and Tashia Farries on October 22, reports to TODAY. The two brides were happily clicking pictures with their family on the beach by Santa Monica Pier in California when the Forrest Gump star popped in to express his congratulations. "We were so in our own moment so for him to walk up, it was shocking and took a second for us to realize. It was the cherry on top for our big day," shared Diciembre recalling the unforgettable moment.

In a video of the joyous encounter, which was posted on social media, guests at the wedding can be heard exclaiming, "That's Woody!" referring to the 65-year-old's popular character from Pixar's Toy Story franchise. As for the Cast Away star, he is heard saying, "Oh man, my stock just exploded!" when he meets bride Tashia, according to PEOPLE. Hanks spent at least five minutes conversing with the beautiful couple and even asked them for a picture with him. This made for an adorable picture where Hanks can be seen posing with Diciembre, Tashia, and their 1-year-old son, August.
"He said he noticed the ceremony and gave us many compliments and just said we looked beautiful," shared Tashia. "He gave us love advice and was just so positive and humble." Previously, the humble actor surprised an Alabama couple who had sent him an invitation to attend their wedding. Even though he couldn't make it to their special day, he responded by inviting them to a play he was in that summer. "We’re really big Tom Hanks fans. I grew up idolizing him … I’ve just thought he was a cool, down-to-earth guy," said bride Kristen Jerkins who decided to write to him and definitely wasn't left disappointed.
"Dang it, but I am in rehearsals for a play here in Los Angeles starting in May. Rats. Gotta send regrets," Hanks wrote back to her. To make up for his absence, he invited Jerkins and her fiancé Joe Dobrin to come out to California to see the play he was in. "Congratulations you kooky kids. Throw deep, Tom Hanks," continued the actor leaving the couple "over the moon" with his response. In 2017, he actually helped a man who was about to pop the question to his girlfriend. The incident unfolded when he was promoting his book Uncommon Type: Some Stories during the Texas Book Festival in Austin, according to ABC News.
Hanks was answering questions posed by the audience when he suddenly revealed that he was bored and that he had a question of his own. He then shared that Ryan McFarling had a question for Nikki Young, both of whom were present in the crowd. "Nikki, will you marry me?" asked the actor as McFarling took the stage (alongside Young) to get down on one knee and complete the proposal. Thankfully, she said yes! Over 13 years ago in 2018, he came to the rescue of a bride and her father who were unable to reach the church as the road was blocked by a filming crew.
Once, in 2008, when Tom Hanks was shooting “Angels & Demons” in Rome by the Pantheon, a bride and her father couldn’t approach the chapel because of the hullabaloo, so Hanks stopped filming to escort them to the altar. pic.twitter.com/XcG4vaclIr— Steve Goldberg (@Steve_Goldberg) November 13, 2019
They were shooting the movie Angels and Demons which stars Hanks. When he noticed the distressed duo, he immediately asked director Ron Howard to halt the shooting and began clearing a path for the bride and her father to go. If this wasn't enough he held the bride's hand and even carried her veil so it would drag on the floor. Indeed he is a gem of a man from whom we can learn a lot.
