Woman Shares Hack To Shave Your Legs. Yes, You've Been Doing It Wrong All These Years

TikTok user Lauren Henderson demonstrated the technique in a video and said, "It literally took me five seconds per leg to shave my legs."

Grooming is a time-consuming task and is a lot of work. At least this is what we think because chances are we have been doing it wrong all our lives. If you wonder how you can get the simple act of shaving your legs or arms or underarms wrong, turns out, you can. There are plenty of tips out there on how to groom yourself. Beauty experts have been giving us tips on how it's best to shave after a hot shower (skin is most hydrated, hair is softest then) and even the frequency of shaving and replacing a razor. But it was one TikToker who broke down the exact steps on the best technique to get rid of the hair.

TikTok user Lauren Henderson has given us a game changer to not only save time but even get the best results for shaving. She even promised that this technique reduces the risk of cutting yourself as well. The video has gone viral, for obvious reasons, and has racked up 1.6 million views and 118,000 likes. However, Henderson herself learned the technique from someone else on TikTok and shared how this life hack "has forever changed her life." She then said that her mom did not teach her this tip and wondered if she even knew it herself. She then decided to send it to her mother as well.

"I literally just did this, this morning, so grab your razor," she said in the video. "You know how we lather our legs up and we shave, and we shave, and we do all that, right? Wrong! So wrong!" She went on to demonstrate what most of us probably did when it comes to shaving our legs as we glide the razor in down to upward motions, repeatedly. "Try this instead: Shave, but don’t lift it," Henderson explained. Instead, she moved the razor downwards after shaving a patch of her leg. Then, she swiped it up again without the razor moving away from her skin.

What the downward movement essentially does is release the loose stubble from the blades. Thus, the razor is cleared off the hair that was shaved off, so it's not necessary to keep lifting the razor to rinse it off. "It literally took me five seconds per leg to shave my legs this morning, that is the fastest it has ever taken me in my life," she stated. "And you can go over your knees too, and it doesn’t cut you up." Which is a major problem for a lot of people. This technique is also better for you to not miss a spot that you find hours later. It also gives a smooth and clean result.

Other TikTok users were impressed with the technique and many people vouched for the effectiveness of the method as well. One user said that they tried it out of curiosity after watching Henderson's video and assured them that they no longer have bumps and cuts. The razor also seems to last much longer as well unlike when we use it the regular way. Many people shared that they were already aware of this method and one person said that they just thought it was their lazy method to get their legs shaved quicker. Another person warned that this method gave them rashes and people with sensitive skin should be wary.

While having body hair is normal, beauty standards require people, especially women, to be hairless. It is seen as a sign of femininity. More and more women are choosing not to shave at all anymore to redefine beauty standards.
