Ted Danson's Wife Mary Steenburgen "Would Sign Up For 100 More Lifetimes" With Him Even After 25 Years Of Marriage

Mary Steenburgen who had given up on relationships changed her mind after meeting Ted Danson.

Sometimes life takes a person through harsh and painful experiences before showering them with joyous and memorable days. Actor Ted Danson and his wife, Mary Steenburgen's life was no different. The couple married for more than 25 years went through their share of broken relationships and heartbreaks before meeting each other. Though they have been together for years, their love is still blooming.

According to People, Steenburgen has nothing but words of appreciation for her partner and the life they have built together. She stated, "I would literally sign up for 100 more lifetimes with him."  The actress continued, "[This] is a marriage where the man in the marriage is secure in both his kindness and tenderness, but also in his strength. I definitely feel that he is the result of almost like dreams I had when I was young about someone I would want to spend my life with, and I really cherish that and I think neither of us take each other for granted.”

Danson and Steenburgen crossed paths in 1993. According to Goalcast, she was a single mother who was not hopeful of finding love again at the time. “I announced to all my friends — not dramatically, but very seriously — that I was done with relationships,” recalled the actress, according to Closer.

But the unexpected happened. She met Danson on the set of Pontiac Moon and they developed a great friendship. Having gone through similar experiences in the past, they connected with each other and found a common ground. Eventually, their friendship blossomed into love.

"We met when we were 40 and 45, and we had lived a bit. We met at a time when both of us had stared down some demons within ourselves and that was lucky that we met then," said Steenburgen.  Shortly thereafter, the couple tied the knot. Ever since they have been a a part and parcel of each other's life.

“He is an amazing father, an amazing stepfather and an amazing grandfather. We have been grandparents now for six years. We have two granddaughters, and they can’t stop climbing on him. They just adore him. They basically see him as a jungle gym. He is Teddy — that is their name for him, and they just adore him," said Steenburgen.

On several occasions, the couple claimed that their love for each other has only grown by the day. According to US Weekly, Danson stated, "I’m madly in love with Mary Steenburgen. She’s a remarkable human being, so I’m just incredibly blessed. If I were to die, I can say, I know what it’s like to be loved and to love.”

Steenburgen too shared the same feeling. “I’m ridiculously in love with him. I find him endlessly fascinating. He surprises me all the time and most of all he makes me laugh," according to Goalcast. She added, "[Our love] just gets more profound and deeper as we go through the blessings and joys, but also the hurdles, of life together. He is my partner in the deepest sense of the word in this life.”

However, the couple is not keen on grand gestures to depict their love and commitment. For Steenburgen, especially, it is the little things that count. “He is just kind to me every single day. If he has an early call, I try to get up while it’s still dark and make him coffee and send him off and he does the same for me. I think it’s those little kindnesses that completely make up our life that are so appreciated," she said.

She added, "I could care less about things like Valentine’s Day because literally, the appreciation for what I do for him and the way he nurtures me as a woman, as an artist, as an actor, as a songwriter and his celebration of who I am makes me free to fly and be who I am. And I hope I do that for him.”

Their love story proves it is never too late to fall in love with the right person.
