Steve Harvey the great entertainer also has a great family. He and his wife Marjorie is moving forward amid the rumors.
Family Feud is, without a doubt, one of the most watched shows on American television, and host Steve Harvey is definitely one of the reasons millions tune in for. He never fails to entertain us with his subtle sense of humor and sarcasm. Given the popularity of the show and the talented host, it is no surprise that Harvey himself makes the news every now and then. Recently, there was much speculation about Harvey's rumored divorce with his wife of over a decade, Marjorie. Though the comedian and his wife were attacked by divorce rumors repeatedly, Harvey and Marjorie are showing they're still going strong, dismissing every gossip that comes their way.
Reports of their divorce and unhappy marriage had created quite a flurry in the press. Harvey also confessed that he was getting sick of the rumors. “They act like I don’t have a family. They act like my kids can’t read. They don’t care. They just go out to destroy people with no facts behind it," said Harvey quoted Good House Keeping.
Celebrating their 12 years of love, Harvey took to Instagram and posted a picture with the caption, "Happy anniversary to the chick of my dreams." Harvey and his wife Marjorie, seem to have the romance alive met each other years ago. According to Good House Keeping, the couple met in 1990 during one of Harvey's stand up show.
Harvey was doing a show at a comedy club in Memphis, Tennessee when a woman showed up late to the show. Harvey, who saw the woman stopped the show and stared at her. Instead of asking her about being late, Harvey told the crowd, "I'm sorry, I don't know who this is, but I'm going to marry her." And yes, he was right about that. The woman he had met that day went on to become his wife.
However, Harvey who married at the time did not act upon the romance even though they felt an instant connection. Later, Harvey started dating Marjorie. However, according to the interview given y the couple to Essence Magazine, Majorie realized that Harvey is the one only after he disappeared. “I knew he was The One shortly after I started dating him…but then he just left. Disappeared,” Marjorie said.
Life was not easy for Harvey as he struggled financially. He started to focus on his career and needed to be in a good place before another move. “Before a man can be of use to a woman…he’s got to know who he is, what he does and how much he’s going to make,” said Harvey to Essence.
Years later, Harvey reunited with that woman who showed up late. After reconnecting in 2005, the couple tied the knot on June 25, 2007. The two, who had been married before found it difficult to blend the family together as the kids were not on board. However, Marjorie made it a point to bring their two families together. Harvey has three kids from his first marriage and one kid from his second marriage. He also adopted the three kids of Marjorie after their marriage. The happy couple has seven children together.
“When you’re dealing with a blended family, everyone is coming from a place of broken. We knew this was right. But I just told them, ‘Everyone is included. Everyone has access to their parents. Whatever you didn’t have before, don’t let that interfere with what you can have now,’” said Marjorie to People. Ever since the couple along with their kids have had a great life.
Harvey and Marjorie came together to form one large family and shares the joy of being together with their kids. Today, their family has grown even more with the addition of their five grandchildren. Harvey and his wife are proud grandparents who often pose with their grandchildren on social media.
Whatever be the gossip, the couple seems to have each other's back and lead a great life.
