‘Star Trek’ Actor William Shatner’s Three Daughters Say He’s a ‘Hands-on Dad’ | “I Am Gratified That My Kids Think That”

In the interview, the actor says: “In my mind, I was gone a lot of the time in an effort to make a living, so I am gratified that my kids think that they are who they are today because of my influence on them and my sense of being there for them – although it was only at weekends,” as he shares how he feels about the time he gave his daughters. “But the fact that I was there for them they tell me was important – and they have turned out to be three of the greatest mothers,” he adds proudly.

The actor shared his woes about how he personally feels, “But I'm always worried about whether I've done a good job as a parent. They have brought their family up in the way I wish I'd brought them up. So something good must have happened!” he says as he feels happy to see his daughters grow up into incredible mothers to his grandkids. Recalling the childhood of his daughters The Dead Man’s Island actor reveals when his daughters were younger he would tell them he'll take them to watch Escape From Planet Earth.

The actor had been married four times. After separating from Gloria, he married Marcy Lafferty who he later divorced in 1996 after thirteen years of marriage. The actor tied the knot for the third time in 1997 with Nerine Kidd, who unfortunately died in 1999. He then married Elizabeth Shatner and parted ways with her in 2019 after staying together for twenty years.
