It's a tough one but you know you can do it.
Brainteasers are a brilliant way to keep ourselves engaged during these days of social isolation. It can also be a distraction to our kids, who are glued to television and mobile screens. A distance learning college in the UK, Oxbridge, has come up with many crazy puzzles to help us keep our minds alert and sharp. However, one particular puzzle has invited the attention of a lot more people and has gone viral on all social media platforms.
The image shows a number of books stacked on top of each other. The person, who can find a hidden pencil among the hidden stack can easily win the puzzle. Look at the image closely and see if you are sharp enough to crack it.
According to Oxbridge, the average person takes about 20 seconds or less. Though it is quite difficult to spot the tiny pencil, there is a little clue that can lead you to the target. All you have to do us to find the small eraser that is attached to the pencil. Keep looking closely. You may have to focus a little more to crack it but it is not impossible. The answer is provided below.
Apart from helping you enjoy some quality time, the brain teaser is also aimed at raising a charity fund for those trying to learn new skills. "As well as providing some fun entertainment, the brainteaser is also promoting Oxbridge’s £60,000 bursary fund. The cash is intended to help those who have been furloughed or are looking to learn new skills or qualifications in the lockdown. The fund originally stood at £35,000 but was increased due to high demand," according to the Sun.
The college stated that it was their duty to help people better their lives through learning. They also hope that this opportunity will enable many to qualify for new employment options or even start a new career. "It’s our responsibility and attitude as a college to help people change their lives for the better. We hope this funding continues to help those in need to attain the qualifications for re-employment, taking the opportunity for a career change or personal development," said Matt Jones, Oxbridge founder.
They believe they are doing their part during these tough times to help people. The college informed they were already receiving a lot of interest from people. According to USA Today, most people are interested in the course that will help in increasing their "functional skills to assist with re-employment like GCSEs and core skills courses, gaining qualifications to help others with their mental health, for example, Counselling and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) courses and skills to start their own businesses, specifically in childcare and event planning."
So, if you enjoyed solving the puzzle, you can also be happy as you have contributed to a cause. However, if you feel like doing another puzzle, try out the one created by the Swift Direct Blinds. All you have to do is to find the tiny bee hidden amongst the flowers. Just like Oxbridge, the founders of this brain teaser is also trying to help a cause.
They hope to educate people on the importance of bees in our ecosystem. "Brainteasers and optical illusions are always a hit around the office and to be able to tie in with such an important cause is great. The hidden bee has really stumped a lot of people! We hope the blind generates some fun and a talking point among people and raises some awareness at the same time," said David Roebuck, Managing Director at Swift Blinds Direct, according to Country Living.
