Sandra Bullock wanted to raise her kids with Jesse James but the man ripped her heart apart by cheating on her months after she applauded him publicly.
When you love someone, you believe in giving them everything you can and respect them in every way possible. But, when you realize you don't receive that in return, it is time to move away from your partner no matter how many memories you made with them. Sandra Bullock, America's sweetheart was forced to go through such a phase in life. The man whom she trusted and desired to raise children with, let her down and broke her heart.
Bullock met Jesse James in December 2003 when she took her godson to watch his show "Monster Garage." The couple started dating and soon, Bullock tied the knot with her biker boyfriend in July 2005 in front of family and friends. The "famously friendly" and “relentlessly optimistic" actress was in love with a man who loved guns, choppers, and the cars who is known for getting mad at sets, according to People. Though there were stark differences between the two, they became an example of "opposites attract".
Sandra loved her husband and became a stepmother to James's kids from his previous marriage. Meanwhile, the actress also wanted to adopt children with her husband. So the couple started their adoption process and was looking forward to beginning a family of their own. In January 2010, the actress publicly thanked her husband after receiving the golden globes. According to ABC News, she said, "to my husband, there is no surprise that my work got better when I met you because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back. So thank you!"
However, within months, the news of her husband's betrayal was all over media. Bullock was devastated. "I’ve been on the floor and I’ve been heartbroken. I didn’t know how I was going to stand up. But I just gave it time," said the actress, according to Closer. Another source told EOnline that the 55-year-old was so embarrassed by her husband that she blamed herself for his actions.
“Let’s all just refer to these kids as “our kids.” Don’t say “my adopted child.” No one calls their kid their “IVF child” or their “oh, shit, I went to a bar and got knocked-up child.” Let just say, “our children.” — Sandra Bullock. 🥀#HappyMothersDay pic.twitter.com/6WdcJROdNB— best of sandra bullock (@bestofbullock) May 13, 2018
Moreover, news of the cheating scandal came out at a horrible time. The actress had already gone through the process of adopting her first son, Louis. Soon, James publicly apologized to Bullock for cheating on her. But days after his apology, The Proposal actress filed for divorce.
"Life after Jesse [James] was really tough. She was embarrassed by what he did and in ways blamed herself at the time (she knows now it wasn't her at all)," stated a close source to E!Online. "She did consider Jesse a father to Louis, so that was one of the hardest parts of breaking up. Jesse was there for her through the whole adoption process. She now knows she is much better off and everything happens for a reason," continued the source.
Bullock adopted her son and decided to live a more private life. "You don’t think it will pass when you’re in the middle of it, but it does. I’m so lucky to have what I have. I have a beautiful child and friends and family I adore. I choose to do what’s best for Louis. I don’t do anything selfishly for myself anymore," told the Oscar-winning actress to Closer.
Eventually, she found true love in Bryan Randall and adopted her second child.
