The adorable photo features their son and the couple's shadow and the fans are loving it.
On November 17, Thursday, fans of Richard Gere got to witness a cute moment on Instagram as his wife, Alejandra Silva, posted a sweet photo of her 3-year-old son Alexander. Alejandra captioned the photo, "Daddy, mommy, and Alexander." In the adorable image, Gere and Alejandra's shadows are seen throwing their hands in the air as little Alexander also gets on board by extending his arms to see his own shadow on the ground. The toddler looks very cute in a pair of pink pants and a cream-colored sweater paired with green boots. The family appeared to be playing with a Frisbee at the couple's new 35-acre estate in New York, which they bought this February for $10 million.
The couple has two sons: Alexander and another son whom they welcomed in April 2020. Gere also has a 22-year-old son named Homer from his marriage to Carey Lowell. Silva too has a 9-year-old son named Albert from a previous marriage. After three years of dating, the couple secretly married in 2018 in an intimate ceremony. Silva shared the happy news via Instagram, writing: "Today is my wedding day to the most wonderful man I've ever met; I know it sounds corny, but it's true!! I'm so proud to be with you, to share this life with you, to be the mother of our children, to be your friend, and to be your wife! You brighten my day! You are my life's love."
"I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life," Silva said of their romance in 2018. "I had the impression that someone was reaching out and pointing me in the right direction... In this lifetime, it had to be that way. He has promised me at least 20 years of happiness! But I must admit that he has far more energy and is far more active than I am. It's difficult to keep up with him. He isn't human!"
Their first pregnancy announcement was a photo of the Dalai Lama blessing Silva's baby bump. They announced the pregnancy of their second child just nine months after the birth of their first. Silva is the founder of Rais Fundacion, a non-profit organization that aims to end homelessness in Spain within five years (the word "rais" means roots in Spanish). The activist frequently discusses her objective and she told a publication in 2015 that she has gone to great lengths to understand the issues that homeless people face in her country. "I've slept on the street to understand the plight of the homeless," Silva explained. "I'm not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get to work. If I do something, I give it my all. I'd rather not do it if I can't."
According to People, speaking about her long-distance relationship with Gere in 2015, Silva revealed that the two would see each other when their children were with their ex-partners. "It's difficult to coordinate, but we never go more than 20 days without seeing each other," she said.
