“Sorry Harry, but is there anything people want to see less than .. a man’s naked feet. Unless carved by Michelangelo," a person tweeted.
While fans of the Royal family were busy congratulating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they announced their pregnancy, few were quick to find 'fault' with the photo of the couple that was used to announce the news on social media. The photo that was otherwise heartwarming and perfect suddenly had a major flaw - Prince Harry's bare feet!. People began to tweet asking the prince to "buy some shoes," reported The Sun UK.
Apparently, the problem with the photo was that his feet look dirty according to a few of their 'fans'. They probably did not notice that the couple were outdoors and walking barefoot does have its 'consequences'. Fans defending the couple soon began to ask why people couldn't just focus on the good news and not be so interested in the 'aesthetics of the Prince's feet'. Others even went on to explain to the rest that it is the 'shading' of the photo that is making it appear so mucky.
“Congratulations Harry and Meghan.. but serious is there any need for Harry’s bare feet," one wrote while another agreed, “I think Harry needs to wash his feet though…Great photo." A third commented, “Sorry Harry, but is there anything people want to see less than .. a man’s naked feet. Unless carved by Michelangelo." While a fourth tweeted, “Someone needs to buy Harry shoes. Ewwww, feet." A fifth 'got straight to the point', “OK OK I’ll be the one to say it. If I never see Prince Harry’s bare feet again it’ll be too soon," they wrote, according to The Sun UK.
Many fans thought it was completely unnecessary to 'show them such hate' on such a happy occasion. Last November the Duchess revealed that she had a miscarriage and shared how heartbroken she was. Many saw this as a blessing after their painful loss. The couple made the announcement on Valentine's day which made the day a lot more special to their fans. "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother," a spokesman for the couple said. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."
The pregnancy photo was taken by the couple's longtime friend and photographer Misan Harriman. Elizabeth Holmes, the author of HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style, pointed out on Instagram that the announcement came exactly 37 years to the day after Prince Charles and Princess Diana, announced that they were expecting Harry. News outlets pointed out that the dress Markle wore in the photo is a sweet nod to her firstborn, Archie Harrison. The dress was made for her while she was pregnant with her son.
