During his trip to the city of Bristol, Prince Harry took a trip down memory lane and remember his adored mother.
Princess Diana left behind a mark on the people she met, along with memories to cherish. And today, it’s her children who are trying to take her legacy forward. During their visits, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle try to meet well-wishers and fans and connect with them, even if it’s just for a few seconds, just like Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana would do. On their recent visit to Bristol, Prince Harry had a special moment with a well-wisher who reminded him of his dear mother.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were visiting Bristol, which was the same city that Princess Diana visited 25 years ago, according to express.co.uk. But even after two and a half decades after her visit, some royal fans still remember Princess Diana and her time in Bristol. One well-wisher was even carrying a picture of Princess Diana from when she was in the city and was able to make Prince Harry take a few short moments out for some reminiscing.
Despite being in the midst of a huge crowd, the well-wisher was able to call out to Prince Harry and get his attention by saying, “Harry, I’ve got a picture of your mum.” In the middle of shaking hands with other people in the crowd, Prince Harry still took notice of the well-wisher and it probably aroused his interest to know that someone had a picture of his mother. After all these years, Prince Harry would least expect someone to carry a picture of Princess Diana with them. But such was the effect of the charismatic Princess that people still carried her essence with them.
Royal fans, especially people who admired and adored Princess Diana, would be extremely excited when she would visit their city. The well-wisher told Prince Harry about how her mother’s excitement when she met the Princess over two decades ago, and she still had the picture with her. As Prince Harry made his way to the well-wisher, the woman said, “Your mum visited Bristol 25 years ago, and my mum was so excited to meet her she wouldn’t let go of the flowers.”
Prince Harry took a look at the picture and was visibly moved to see a picture of his mother in the very same city he was currently in. “I love that. I recognise everybody in that photo,” he replied to the woman, who was thoughtful enough to carry the photo with her and try her luck at showing the picture to Prince Harry. As Prince Harry continued to look at the photo, the well-wisher assured him that she would get the picture mailed to him, saying, “I’ll get some sent and post it to you.”
Prince Harry also said the well-wisher, “Where was this?” and the woman replied “Thornbury, Bristol, ’94.” Although Prince Harry was in a rush, taking a moment out to give the picture a look would certainly have been a memorable moment in Bristol. Before hurrying off, he hoped the woman would continue to take care of the picture and said, “I love that. Look after those - very nice to meet you. Bye guys.”

Having lost his mother at a very young age, Prince Harry was forced to take a number of important steps in his life without his caring mother by his side. And his trip to Bristol was a reminder of growing up without a parent. During his visit to Bristol’s Empire Fighting Chance charity, Prince Harry made some time to speak privately to a 12-year-old boy who became emotional while talking about the death of his father. And having gone through a similar experience when he was aged 12, Prince Harry could understand what the boy was going through and asked everybody else to leave the room for some time so that he could speak to the young boy on his own, according to people.com.
He told the young boy, “The same thing happened to me.” Although the experience reminded him of not having Princess Diana during this time in his life, which is one of the most important times as he transitions into the role of a father, he was still able to strengthen the young boy. “It just got a bit emotional because he mentioned something. He knew some stuff about me and the same thing happened to me. We had a chat for about 10 minutes,” the young boy said. “When we had a group picture at the end he made sure I was standing next to him. They were lovely people. I didn’t expect them to be like that. They were amazing people.”

No matter how busy things get or how emotional the situation may be, Prince Harry still tries to go out of his way to connect with the people he meets, reflecting the true nature of his own mother who didn’t let anything stop her from being kind to the people around her.
