Prince George Gifts Mommy Kate Middleton A Handmade Card For Mother's Day | See The Lil Artist's Work Inside

This Mother's Day, the Cambridge family shared some photos from their personal collection and wished mothers across the UK on their special day.

For most of us, our mothers are the first connection to the world. They are the be-all and end-all when we were infants and idols worthy of our appreciation and awe when we are toddlers. The older we grow, our relationship gets complex and multi-layered, but most of us never lose the love we have for them. And, Mother's Day is a nice chance to show our moms what we feel for them year-round.

This day is celebrated across the globe on different days. For the UK, it was on March 22 in 2020. The royal family, too, joined in the celebration. Prince William's family shared a few pictures to pay tribute to the important women in their lives. Among those was a sweet picture of a handmade card made by Prince George for his mom, Kate Middleton.

The card showed a yellow vase with a heart on it and a floral arrangement. There were other pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their children in Norfolk; Diana, Princess of Wales, with Prince William and Prince Harry as toddlers, and Carole Middleton with her daughter Catherine.

"To mothers new and old and families spending today together and apart—we are thinking of you all at this difficult time," the caption read. They referred to the global pandemic that has led to many families being separated to ensure safety and preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

The image of Middleton with George, 6, her husband Prince William, and their 4-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte was previously unseen, as per People. Their youngest son, Prince Louis, who will turn two next month, was missing from the post.

Middleton, the mother-of-three, who has a packed schedule, recently opened up about motherhood on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, according to People. She shared that she suffers from "mom guilt... and anyone who doesn’t as a mother is actually lying!"

"It’s a constant challenge—you hear it time and time again from moms, even moms who aren’t necessarily working and aren’t pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life," Middleton continued.

She also shared her hopes of how her children will perceive her as they grow up. "Is it that I’m sitting down trying to do their maths and spelling homework over the weekend? Or is it the fact that we’ve gone out and lit a bonfire and sat around trying to cook sausages that haven’t worked because it’s too wet?" the royal said. "That’s what I would want them to remember, those moments with me as a mother, but also the family going to the beach, getting soaking wet, filling our boots full of water, those are what I would want them to remember," she added. "Not a stressful household where you’re trying to do everything and not really succeeding at one thing."

The podcast clearly struck a chord with many moms across the UK as responses came pouring in from new and old moms sharing their own experience. The host of the podcast added, "There’s always something to feel guilty over," to which the duchess said, "Exactly! And always sort of questioning your own decisions and your own judgments and things like that, and I think that starts from the moment you have a baby!"

Like many children across the globe, George and Charlotte, who've been going to Thomas’s Battersea for school will now have to continue their lessons at home. The focus will be on "remote learning" as they continue their lessons using online sources next week, their school said in a statement, according to People

Meanwhile, the Sussexes also released an Instagram post on the special day honoring mothers across the country. Their message said, "No matter what you call your mum, this Mother’s Day in the UK, we honour the mums all over the world who do so much every single day, and now more than ever. Thank you." They didn't share any special photos of Meghan or Archie with the post, unlike last time.
