Here's a situation... would you ask your friend or anyone close to you to return something that you gifted them? Do you know somebody who would do something like this? If your answer was no, here's a story that will introduce you to a woman who asked her gifts to be returned when her friend was going through the worst pain you can ever imagine.
Screenshots of a Facebook post of a woman were shared on Reddit where she revealed that she had recently endured the loss of a child to stillbirth at 29 weeks. "I didn't want to put this out here, but I have no choice," the woman whose name has not been revealed penned on her Facebook page, according to Kidspot. She continued, "(NAME CROSSED OUT) bought me some beautiful gifts for Benjamin for when he was born. A soft fleece blanket, a cuddly elephant, booties, some clothes, and a singing toy. I didn't ask for these things, as I said they were gifts."

She then mentioned that her son, Benjamin who was born at 29 weeks couldn't survive. "A week later (NAME CROSSED OUT) messages me asking if Benjamin used or touched the things she bought because if not... she wanted them back!" In the screenshots shared on Reddit, the woman's friend sounds concerned initially but then her motive becomes clear.
"Hey, hun just wondering if u used the bits n bobs I got for the baby?" she wrote. "If not I can give them to Laura's little one. Hope your ok and resting up hun?" wrote the friend and then followed up by asking her to inform her before she goes shopping again because she wants to save money.

The mum who was still grieving the death of her son couldn't believe what she was reading. She replied, "I'm not doing OK. I'm heartbroken. I can't believe you're asking me at the moment, but yes I still have the things except for the blanket, he will be buried with it because it is warm and I thought it was stunning. I mean... I hope that's OK for you?!?"

However, her friend's reply might stun you just like the heartbroken mum. The friend replied saying, "Aww hun, sorry I know it's a tough time, I'm sorry," she wrote. "I just needed to know before I spend anymore, is there a chance you have another blanky for him, babe?" She didn't stop here, she continued by saying that she intended on gifting it to someone else.

To add more salt to the wound, she tried to tell the mother that she is always there for her by saying, "I've been having a tough time myself lately so I'm here online and on my phone all the time for u if you need to chat. Let me know though about the blanket quickly though."

The grieving mum didn't know what to say and decided on ignoring the outrageous request, but the persistent friend didn't stop and suggested if she could pick up the blanket herself, reported The Sun. By this point, the mum had lost all her patience and so she asked her friend not to come because "The blanket is in with Benjamin!"

"You can have the rest (of the things) I'll drop them off at yours, don't even think of coming here. My husband is fuming with these messages you are sending me a week after I lose my baby," she continued. "They're packed in a bag... I'll leave them at yours. The blanket is with Benjamin he is having 'use' out of it thank you very much."
The friend then responded by defending herself claiming she had financial problems and if the mum wasn't planning to return the blanket, she might as well cover the cost of it. The mum, dumbstruck by the audacity of her so-called friend, stuck to ignoring the messages instead of replying and cutting her off her life.

The Redditors, however, had a lot to say about the friend with one commenting, "Imagine harassing a grieving mother over stuff that amounts to pocket change." While another commented, "I refuse to believe this is real simply because I cannot handle the depravity of asking for an item back from a mother who just lost the child they obviously loved and wanted."
