Mom Says She's "Done Apologizing" Because She's "Going To Be Too Much For Some And Not Enough For Others..."

Jennifer Thompson, a working mother took to Facebook to voice the struggles of every mother in society. She talked about the challenges motherhood and encouraged women to believe in the decisions they make.

Moms are always under the scrutiny by the society that seems to have too many unreasonable expectations of what a mother should be like. While they already have a stressful life trying to manage their families, the often uncreasonable societal pressures can affect their emotional wellbeing. However, one mother who had enough of this criticism took to social media, Good Morning America reports.

Jennifer Thompson, the owner of the blog They Whine so I Wine took to Facebook to say that she was "done apologizing."

"I'm too much for some people. Too loud; too outspoken. I talk too much. I voice my opinions far too often and forget the filter. To others, I am too quiet. Shy. Off-putting, maybe even stuck up," Jennifer writes.

She opened up about how there were too many people to judge her as a woman. While she was just a mother to some, to others she was "career driven, too organized; by the book. A control freak, too structured. A planner."

Jennifer who has a little boy went on to say that she would always be too much or too less for the people around her. "Do you see a trend here? I'm always going to be too much for some and not enough for others when in reality I'm both. I'm equal parts loud and quiet. I'm career driven and a hot mess mama."

She encouraged women and told them not to worry about the hateful comments and judgment. "As women, we worry so much about what other people think or what we think they might be thinking. We create judgments in our own heads. We hear undertone where it's not even meant to exist. We over-analyze text messages. We worry why we didn't get the invite. We see glances and whispers and assume they must be directed at us," wrote Jennifer.

Jennifer, who brought out the harsh reality of motherhood said it was time for women to stop pleasing the society. "We try so hard to bend ourselves fifty different ways to fit a mold in hopes of somehow satisfying everyone else, only to leave ourselves feeling empty," wrote Jennifer.

"Stop doubting your own decisions. Stop looking over your shoulder. Stop trying to please everyone else." The young mother assured women reading the post that they did not need anybody's approval and said they needed to stop doubting their actions. "Well, people are always going to have an opinion. I'm just at the point in my life where I can finally say - LET THEM and I think you are, too," wrote the mother who had reached her tipping point.

It did not take long for the post to go viral, and was shared 18,000 times and was followed by 1.1 comments. Women who seemed to relate to Jennifer's message shared their experiences and thanked her for her encouraging words. "You just said a mouth full! In total agreement with you smart lady!! We are born to be ourselves - not what others think or say we should be & frankly at 54 I don’t give a damn anymore!.." wrote a user. Another wrote, "I don't know you but love you! Every woman needs this. Either some of it or all of it! Thanks for the awesome message!

Jennifer told Good Morning America that she did not get one negative comment and was overwhelmed by the positive responses of women who thought it was empowering. "I'm taking ownership of my life. Because we only get one life and it's not about pleasing everyone, it's about living. Whatever that means for you, do it," Jennifer adds.
