Mom Furious After Ex-Husband Couldn't Tell His Own 1-YO Sons Apart & Dropped Off The Wrong Baby At Her House

The woman is thinking of making changes in her custody agreement.

One father is facing heat after he failed to tell his own sons apart. The mother of the child took to Reddit to detail the bizarre incident. The woman explained how her ex-partner Sean came to drop off their 17-month-old baby home during her work call and ended up dropping off another child.

She started the post by saying that her ex-partner made two women including her pregnant at the same time. She stated that the other woman's name was Lydia and she had a 15-month-old. She claimed that he took the sons home every alternate week, to create a bond with them.

"Lydia and I have identical custody agreements. We both had sole custody for the entire first year, with Sean only having visitation, and when both boys were a year old, it became 50/50 custody," wrote the woman. She added, "This means Sean has both boys at the same time. He pushed for this, as he wanted a week on/week off from looking after kids. He also requested this so his sons could bond, but his primary motive was getting time off."

Then the woman went on to narrate the incident. After having a week with both the boys, Sean came to drop off his 17-month-old at home. At the time, the mother was on a work call so Sean placed the baby carrier and left immediately.

It is only after the baby began to cry that the mother realized her ex-partner's mistake. When she went to pick the baby up from the carrier, she noticed the child was not her son.

"I was on a work call and the baby was sleeping, so Sean just sort of placed the baby, carrier and all, down on the floor and left silently. When the baby woke up and started crying, I got off the work call and immediately noticed that this was not my son, as my son has blue eyes, and this baby had green eyes. Taking off the baby's hat also showed dark blond hair, and not my son's light brown hair," wrote the mother. She also understood that this was Lydia's child.

The fuming mother called him and told him to bring the baby back. "I immediately called Sean, in full panic mode, telling him to bring me the correct child right this second. It had only been about 10 minutes so Sean wasn't far away and hadn't gone by Lydia's yet, but Jesus f**king Christ it was the worst 10 minutes of my life," recalled the mother.

Soon, Sean came back with the right child and said, "See? He's fine. No harm done." Disappointed by the incident, the mother told Sean that he could not have both the boys together as he had no idea who was who.

"I told him that we are fixing this custody agreement. He is not having both boys alone again. He couldn't tell his own sons apart, so the solution here is for him to not be in a position to confuse them," wrote the woman.

However, her decision did not sit well with Sean. He called her selfish and said it was not suitable for both the babies and himself.

"He also says that I'll be causing undue harm to all 3 guys in this situation, as the kids won't get to bond with their half brother, and Sean won't get any time to himself if he has Lydia's son on even weeks and mine on odds, meaning that he'll be more exhausted and it will decrease his income as he won't be able to work overtime," wrote the woman.

The mother was not ready to budge despite his arguments. She told readers that she was contacting people to amend the custody agreement. She further asked readers if she was right in making changes in their current arrangement.

The readers were divided. While some thought the mother was right, others said it was just an error. Many said it was better to continue the same arrangement.

"It's absolutely absurd the number of people that think this dude should lose custody entirely over this one, almost entirely harmless incident," said one. "Sounds to me like OP couldn't tell them apart without looking at their hair and eyes either," opined another.
