A 32-year-old mother goes viral after posting a video waxing her 10-year-old daughter's face. Ashlee Pease mentioned that her daughter was being bullied over having hair above her upper lip. TikTok user documented 10-year-old Gisele’s foray into hair removal this week before finally deciding to take her to a pro. “Okay guys, we’re about to remove the middle of Gisele’s eyebrows,” the mother-of-five explained at the beginning of the video. She said that people at school tease her about her badge [too]that doesn’t even have a mustache."

Ashlee agreed to help her daughter wax her face using an at-home kit, although she made it clear she thought it was unnecessary. ‘[Giselle] has a little hair. Every girl has a little hair here, she insisted, pointing to her upper lip. “We’re going to wax it because she wants it waxed, so let’s do it.” Even before starting the process, she mentioned a lot of times that it is completely natural for girls to have facial hair and waxing is not necessary.
Ashlee started by applying hot wax between Giselle’s eyebrows, but her daughter wanted to be the one to pull it off. The mother tried to explain that she had to rip the tape off all at once while watching her slowly remove the wax from her skin. The influencer ended up reaching out and snatching it herself. Ashlee started with Giselle’s eyebrows, and after several tweezes, she grabbed some tweezers to finish the job ‘because those hairs don’t come out.’

They did it three more times before Ashlee grabbed some tweezers to finish the job “because those hairs aren’t coming out.” Ashlee then moved on to Giselle’s upper lip, which proved to be even harder to pluck than her eyebrows. The teenager cried out in pain as her mother ripped the wax off the sensitive area. After a few more tries, the mother explained that “the hairs barely come off. We’re just going to go to the professionals and do it because obviously, this wax doesn’t work,” she said.

In reality, 10-year-old Giselle has gorgeous full brows and a tiny amount of hair on her upper lip, which is extremely common among women and girls, but you know how school bullies can be. Some commenters, however, felt that it was still inappropriate for Ashlee to agree to the waxing, saying she should have taught her daughter self-confidence instead.

The video, which was shared on the family’s shared page, has been viewed more than 1.1 million times and hundreds of people have flocked to the comments. Many people gushed that Gisele’s bushy eyebrows are “amazing,” insisting her bullies were just “jealous,” but some were quick to judge the mom. “I don’t like this motherly energy, you are not a soft mother, you look so harsh in all respects. Change yourself urgently,” someone wrote.
