The mom-of-three shared her "embarrassing" experience in a hilarious video.
A Florida mom had just gotten out of the shower when she walked through her bedroom to get her clothes. But Ashley Foret Smith, a mom of three, was in for the shock of her life when she realized that her 7-year-old daughter was sitting in the room on the bed, on a Zoom call with her classmates. The flustered mom was so embarrassed she didn't know what to do! She ended up recording her hilarious reaction and shared the most embarrassing moment of her life with the world.
"All of a sudden I heard my 7-year-old from my bed go ‘Hang on, Bella,’ and then Bella goes, ‘I think we need to hang up. We might all be in trouble,’” Foret Smith said in a Facebook post that has since gone viral, with over 3.5 million views and counting. “I don’t know why she was in my bed,” the mom shared laughing hysterically while recounting the “most humiliating moment of [her] life.”
She added, “I watch all of these videos of people on the Internet and I don’t believe it,” she said in the video. “And then it just happened to me.” The embarrassed mom even contemplated sending “an apology note to all the parents,” she said, but she also joked that she considered just flat-out denying that the incident ever took place at all. The video ends with her daughter climbing on the bed, and Foret Smith telling her she’s in “so much trouble” while laughing. In her post, she wrote: May my humiliation make you giggle tonight. I hate pictures, I hate videos, there is little proof of my existence beyond live interactions. But, for some reason I picked up my phone to document my embarrassment. *edit* it has been confirmed that no child saw anything. Thank goodness! WEAR YOUR CLOTHES! END VIRTUAL SCHOOL!

At least the mom has a sense of humor about it. "Parenting books teach you a lot of things," Foret Smith told Insider. "How to change a diaper, how to handle the terrible 2s, how to potty train your toddler. But nowhere in these books is there a chapter on how to virtual school during a pandemic. How was I supposed to handle this?" Smith spoke to two educators who encouraged her to share her story. Many parents have been overwhelmed due to the pandemic and they could use a laugh, they said. . “Practicing social distancing for so long makes you feel like you are in this all alone. When in fact, every single one of us is learning this new way of life,” said Foret Smith. “I hope that other parents learn that it is OK to not be perfect — that we are all doing our best to balance so many things right now.” Many parents loved the way Smith handled the situation. One of life's little embarrassments but good for lots of laughs afterwards! one person wrote. Another added: Great attitude and very funny story. Perfect way to start my day. I’d say you chose the right way to cope with it. A third shared: The best laugh I’ve had since the pandemic began!
