NBA legend announced through Twitter that he will support the people of Bahamas in the best way possible.
The world is a better place when we join hands to help the ones in need. The people in the Bahamas had their lives displaced after the deadly hurricane washed off its houses and caused chaos. Many people have offered to support the islands including six times NBA champion Michael Jordan.
The basketball legend announced through Twitter that he will be donating $1 million to organizations that are lending their helping hands to support the people struck by the deadly storm. The statement released through his spokeswoman Estee Portnoy said that he was devastated by the disaster.
He said his heart goes out to everyone who is affected by the storm. "I am devastated to see the destruction that Hurricane Dorian has brought to the Bahamas, where I own property and visit frequently. My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering and to those who have lost loved ones," wrote Jordan.

The 56-year-old player who is a frequent visitor to the Bahamas said that he will be keeping in track with the relief efforts. He said the money will be donated to the right non-profit organizations that will make the most impact.
"The Bahamian people are strong and resilient and I hope that my donation will be of help as they work to recover from this catastrophic storm," added the player. The category 5 hurricane which occurred on 1 September 2019 destroyed the islands. According to CNN, 70,000 people have lost their homes and at least 50 people have lost their lives.
Several other celebrities including Rhianna, Lenny Kravitz have also pledged their support for the islands. “It truly breaks my heart to see the complete devastation that #HurricaneDorian is having on the Bahamas!” wrote Rhianna on Twitter. Renown chef José Andrés who leads the non-profit World Central Kitchen served around 15,000 meals to the people of Bahamas.
Apart from celebs, many are coming forward to help them the island in whatever ways possible. A Florida man reportedly donated more than 100 generators and other necessary supplies to the Islands. The donations of these kind people will help in the fast recovery of the islands and will bring it back to its glory.
