Marriage Proposal on Brooklyn Bridge Goes Horribly Wrong After Photographer Stands in Bike Lane|Watch the Video Inside

22-year-old Chris Vigo wanted to propose to his 21-year-old girlfriend Angelina Rivera and they became social media famous instead.

Wedding proposals can be fun and romantic occasions. They are also really important for couples and people put in extra effort to make this day special. The person who wants to ask the question gets their friends, family, and photographers involved to capture the beautiful moment. People also go to great lengths to add some drama and pomp into that special moment but sometimes things go wrong.

One man, who was standing on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, was proposing to his girlfriend, asking her to be his forever, but the moment was ruined by their friend's folly.

Chris Vigo, 22, wanted to ask his girlfriend Angelina Rivera, 21, to marry him and the video of that day shows that he was on one knee. His friend rushed to take a photo of the moment from a different angle and positioned himself in the wrong place.

The friend stood in the middle of the bike lane when a cyclist passed by. "I gave him a cue so he knew when I would propose," Chris told New York Post. His photographer friend, Josh Rosario, then moves from out of the frame to behind the couple to get a better angle of the couple. Instead, he caused an interruption.

"He got so excited, and as he was trying to catch his angles, this guy comes and just collides with him,” the 22-year-old told the New York Post. “He hit his brakes, but it was too late." The cyclist tumbled over him and that interrupted the proposal.

Chris can be seen asking the cyclist if he was okay after he took the tumble and the cyclist said he was. "That’s in the video, but we’re going to edit that," Chris chimes then, still holding Angelina's hand. Chris adds that he wasn't sure what should be done then. "We didn’t know what to say," he said. "In my mind, I’m like, ‘Do I go over and help him, or do I stay and hold her hand?'" he added.

"At that point, we kissed, we hugged. We know we were surrounded by thousands of people, but it felt good. When I look into her eyes, everything stops," said the engaged man.

Rosario, 23, who is a New Yorker, said that he was unhurt by the cyclist and it was his first time on top of the bridge. He grew up in the city but was unaware of the bike lane.

"I didn’t know it was going to be the way it was, how narrow it was," he added. The video was shared on Facebook and gained more than 10,000 views. It went viral on TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit too.
