"This is the beginning of a romantic novel," a TikTok user commented
The pandemic has made many creative in their quest for love. Last week we had a woman 'pursuing' a cute guy she saw on a train by identifying the logo on his backpack. This week we have yet another woman who took 'drastic measures' to get the attention of a boy she liked and this time it is not creepy.
The TikTok user, @a12959a, a woman from London, shared her 'lockdown love story' in a video that has since been viewed more than 250K times. She apparently spotted a 'cute' guy who lived across, sitting on his balcony and playing his guitar. She knew she had to do all that she can to get his attention. After several attempts, she decided to do something that you would probably only see in an old Taylor Swift video or a Rom-Com. She stuck a giant sign on her window in hopes that he will finally notice her. The sign read, "@ the man with a bike on his balcony. "R U single?"
The attempt was successful and he replied, except his response broke her heart. He was single but he told her that he was due to move houses. "Yes but I’m moving in 2 month’s time. Sorry. Ps, stay romantic," he told her. The woman, now motivated, decides she is going to give it a try anyway. She gives him her number. It works and he texted her saying, "I’m your neighbour across the gardens", followed by a lengthy message which the woman blurred while showing the texts on TikTok.
Users are now begging her to show them what he said, "This is the beginning of a romantic novel," one said, while another wrote, "this is actually how me and my husband met... 16 years ago. He and his mate put up signs in his window - the rest is history." A third commented, "URM NO BLURRING THE TEXT PLEASE!!!!? BRING THAT BACK", while a fourth said, "He wrote a lot in that text... do tell!"
