Kim Kardashian Plans To Divorce Kanye West After 7 Years Of Marriage | "She Has Had Enough"

"She told him that she wants some space to figure out her future," revealed a source.

Reality show star Kim Kardashian is reportedly preparing to part ways with her husband Kanye West. According to People, sources close to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star disclosed that Kim is on the brink of getting a divorce from her rapper partner.

"He knows that she’s done. She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future," said a source, according to People. A second source revealed that the star was working with top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser. "It will happen eventually, but she’s waffling," said the source, alluding to when she would file the papers.

Sources also confirmed that the celebrity couple was in the midst of settlement talks, according to Page Six.

Meanwhile, Kim's efforts to end the marriage was already known to Kanye. "He’s okay. He’s sad, but okay. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon," said a source.

The news of their divorce comes soon after it was reported that the couple spent their holidays away from each other. While Kanye remained at his $14 million Wyoming ranch over the festive season, Kim engaged in an extravagant Christmas celebration with her family.

“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” said a source, according to Page Six.

Though insiders claimed they "very much lived separate lives" in December, it was stated that the couple made the choice due to their different work schedules. "Kim has work and projects that are important to her, and Kanye has his. Their lives don't overlap much," said a source at the time, according to People

The sources also added that the reality star was "happy" and very focused on "work and causes." "She strongly believes she can make a change when it comes to prison reform," said a source about Kim, who is studying to be a lawyer. The source explained, "This is her passion. Her family is very proud of her," referring to Kim's interest in justice reform advocacy.

The couple has been going through a rough patch for the past couple of months. In July 2020, Kanye made a series of allegations against the Kardashians on Twitter. The rapper who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder alleged that Kris Jenner and the other Kardashians were forcing him into psychiatric treatment.

He also mentioned his desire to separate from his wife. “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform,’” tweeted the rapper, according to Page Six.

Kanye alarming tweets were followed by a lengthy post from Kim. She addressed her husband's mental health struggles and asked their fans for their "compassion."

"As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health," wrote Kim, according to People

She further defended Kanye and claimed that his words did not "align with his intentions." "He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart..." said the reality star.

Despite Kim publicly standing up for Kanye, the gap between the couple furthered in the months that followed. The couple shares four children and has been married since May 2014.
