Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Welcome Their First Child | "We Are Floating With Love"

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced the birth of their daughter through the UNICEF official Twitter page.

The music world has happy news to celebrate amid the pandemic. Singer, According to Entertainment, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together. The couple announced the big news through the UNICEF official Twitter page. The Goodwill Ambassadors wrote, "Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honored to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and Orlando Bloom's new bundle of joy." The couple also put up a picture of their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.


The pair further wrote, "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter." The couple then went on to talk about the struggles faced by newborns and parents facing difficulties to find good healthcare due to the ongoing health crisis.

"But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was," they added. "Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes," wrote the singer and her partner.


They continued, "Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines, and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever."

The couple added that they would be setting up a donation page so fans can support "a healthier world for every child."

The news was welcomed by the fans of the couple. They gushed over the adorable baby girl and expressed their joy through the comments and likes. "MY HEART THIS IS EVERYTHING," wrote one. Another stated, "HE’S FINALLY HERE. Welcome to the world, baby girl." One wrote, "Omg babycat 😭😭😭😭 congrats Katy and Orlando."

The singer first announced the news of her pregnancy in March 2020 through a music video. Perry showed off her baby bump in the video for Never Worn White. At the time, the singer revealed her pregnancy was "probably the longest secret" she has "ever had to keep."

The singer stated, "There's a lot that will be happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth — literally — but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for," during the live session alluding to her pregnancy and her new album Smile, according to People.


Recently, the singer opened up about motherhood and how she was not ready for it before. "I was really terrified of the idea two or three years ago. It was just like, I don't know how I'm ever gonna do that. That's crazy. I can barely take care of myself!" said the singer, according to People.

However, she claimed that she became ready for a new addition into her life after undergoing the Hoffman Process, a retreat that helps people understand the "negative behaviors conditioned from childhood."


"It changed my life, and it's changed Orlando's life and many of my friends' lives. It helped me re-wire how I think about myself and the habits and patterns of why I do something. It's just given me a lot more freedom," said Perry, according to People. 

She further stated, "Unconditional love has been a journey for me, and that's going to be amazing."

Perry and Bloom have been linked romantically since 2016. The couple got engaged in 2019.
