In addition to being a part of the hit sitcom Full House, John Stamos and Bob Saget shared a strong bond off-screen as well. On the occasion of Saget's first death anniversary on January 9, Stamos penned an emotional note and shared a throwback video of the two friends on Instagram.

In the video, the two actors are seen in between takes on the set of their show, talking to the audience about the cast's love for each other. "'The most lost day in our life is the day we don't laugh.' It's hard sometimes Bob without you, but we'll try. We'll keep loving and will keep hugging just like you want us to. I can't believe it's been a year, time flies when you're grieving I guess," Stamos captioned the post.
Saget was found dead at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on January 9, 2022. The 65-year-old actor's family later confirmed that the cause of his death was head trauma. This news came as one of the biggest shocks to many in Hollywood, including Stamos.
In an interview with CNN in June 2022, Stamos shared how he felt when he learned about his best friend's death shortly after driving around with his 4-year-old son to try and get him to nap. He received a call from his publicist when he was in a parking lot not far from his home. "He asked if I had spoken to Bob yet that day... that people are saying he's dead," he recalled. "I go, 'What? He's in Florida to do a show.'" Stamos then tried reaching Saget on his phone a few times before reaching out to the late comedian's wife, Kelly Rizzo. Her tears confirmed his worst fear.

"I hit the ground in the parking lot. And it was downhill from there," he shared. "It was just 'I'm so sorry.' It was such a gut punch." On the day of Saget's funeral—a day he confessed was "the hardest day of my life"—Stamos was one of the pallbearers.

Stamos took to his Instagram with heartfelt and heartwrenching words after Saget's death. He wrote: "I'm not ready to accept that he's gone—I'm not going to say goodbye yet. I'm going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor. He's standing on stage, killing! Another two-hour set in front of a couple hundred of the luckiest people on the planet. They're laughing so hard, they weep."

"On his way to the hotel, he calls his beautiful, loving wife, Kelly. He says he feels 26 again, alive! Then asks her to fix up a picture he wants to post. She tells him it doesn't need fixing, and tells him how handsome he is. He tells her he loves her with every bit of his heart. And when he gets to the hotel to put his head on the pillow, he misses his daughters, his family, his friends. God, he loves us all so much. And he goes to sleep dreaming of when we'll all meet again—and he's smiling. I know in my heart he's smiling, still hearing the laughter from a few hours before. I'm just not ready to say goodbye yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe," he added.

Although Saget and Stamos formed a tight-knit bond while filming Full House, during an appearance on JimmyKimmelLive, Saget revealed that he and Stamos were not great friends during their first four years on the show. However, they later became best friends and brothers for life.
