Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner tied the knot in May 2019 after meeting in 2016.
The birth of a child is the most joyful moment for parents as it initiates a new, exciting journey for them. Sophie Turner of Game of Thrones fame and pop singer Joe Jonas are the new couple embarking on parenthood. According to People, the couple confirmed the arrival of their baby girl.
A statement presented to the media outlet stated, "Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby." However, the news was first released by TMZ. The report stated that the couple welcomed their baby girl on 22 July 2020 at a Los Angeles-area hospital. The baby is named Willa. Sources close to the couple revealed the couple's bliss in having a new addition to their family.
"Joe and Sophie welcomed a baby girl last Wednesday in L.A. and are over the moon. The couple is already obsessed and can't stop gloating about their new addition. The couple is taking time to enjoy this special moment and have only shared the news and updates with family and friends," said the insider, according to ET.
With the pandemic in place, the couple has been extra careful with who is visiting the baby. "...Joe and Sophie have been very cautious about who is around them and their little girl," said the source, according to ET.
Jonas and Turner have been highly secretive about their pregnancy since the start. They never confirmed the news officially and managed to hide the news from the media and fans until the news broke out in February 2020. In March, the couple was spotted shopping at a kid's store in Studio City, California, according to ET. While the couple did not address their pregnancy, the couple spoke of their time during the quarantine.
"We're having a good time. We got married last year, so we're new to this, so we're still enjoying that time. Also, we were on tour for what feels like more than a year, so being home is kinda nice," said Jonas on the SiriusXM Hits 1's Celebrity Session hosted by The Morning Mash Up.
He continued, "We appreciate and we know that time for ourselves is important. So, I'll do my thing, she does her thing, even though we're all under one roof. I think that's been helpful for us."
Turner too shared her thoughts on having her "social butterfly" husband at home. The 24-year-old actress stated that the lockdown allowed her to spend quality time with her husband, who otherwise is difficult to get a hold-off.
The couple met each other in 2016 after Jonas slid into the actress' DM on Instagram. "We were following each other on Instagram and he direct messaged me one fine day, out of the blue," said Turner to Harper's Bazaar, according to Insider.
A few weeks after, the couple decided to meet up in person. So Jonas and Turner went out to a local bar in London. Their attraction towards each other was instant and the couple thought they had something "unique."
They were so smitten that Turner decided to join Jonas on tour and since then, they have been together. "It wasn't small talk — it was just so easy. And soon we were, like, inseparable. I went on tour with him," recalled Turner, according to the Insider.
Within no time, their relationship went to the next level. They were spotted together quite often but the couple never confirmed the news until Jonas' younger brother, Nick hinted they were together. In July 2017, Turner opened up about her very private relationship with Jonas and claimed that they had met each other's parents.
The actress claimed that meeting Jonas changed her life for the best. "I'm happier than I've been in a very long time," said Turner. Months later, the couple got engaged. In May, 2019, the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas.
"In finding myself, I was also able to find a partner. The impact of falling in love has made me want to be a better man, a better person, and ultimately made me a better brother," said Jonas, according to Insider.
