Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner is on the road to recovery after providing more updates on his health. He shared a light video from the hospital showing his mother and sister trying to cheer him up. The two-time Oscar nominee was injured in a freak snow vehicle accident on January 1, 2023, reported The Guardian. In the video, the actor can be seen getting a head massage from his loved ones. He called it an “ICU spa moment" and thanked his mother and sister for being there for him. “First shower in definitely a week or so,” Renner adds in the video. “Gross.”

Renner was hit by a snowplow and was “completely crushed” by the vehicle which weighed more than 14,000 lbs. He suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries due to that and was airlifted to the hospital in an emergency. As per USA Today, Renner’s representatives confirmed that the accident occurred in Reno, Nevada. It was clarified by the Washoe County Sherriff's Office that Renner was the only one injured in the accident. In a press conference on Tuesday, Sheriff Darin Balaam said that they received a call around 8:55 a.m. on Sunday that informed them of a crash in which a person was run over by a snowcat, as per the outlet.
The actor was trying to use the snowcat to help a family member who was stuck near his house, in the 3 feet of fresh snow the area had received the night before. He was speaking to the family member when the snowcat started to roll. The law enforcement officials did not suspect any foul play and Sheriff Balaam said, “We do not believe Mr. Renner was impaired at all, and we believe this is a tragic accident."
The actor also shared a post on his Instagram on Tuesday to share a short message with his fans. “Thank you all for your kind words,” alongside a selfie from his hospital bed. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” he captioned. According to Variety, the Washoe County Sherriff's Office stated that “upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.” Renner will be next seen in the second season of Mayor of Kingstown which is set to release in January and he also has two upcoming projects lined up.
