Her mother was one of her biggest influences in her childhood.
Being a mom is unquestionably the toughest job and when you are a working mother, things never seem to ease down. But mother of three and renowned actress Jennifer Garner has decided not to stress over motherhood, reports People.
Talking about her laidback approach to motherhood, the 47-year-old actress said, "I can't really complain about my kids." She was a panelist at INBOUND, the annual conference held by HubSpot in Boston.
"They're pretty awesome. They humor me. But I have chilled out and stopped trying to be my mom," she added. She also went on to explain how her mother was one of the biggest influences in her life during her growing up years.
The Peppermint actress who has learned to strike a balance between work and family now said, "It used to be [just] what you can get, first. You're just so grateful to have a job, and leave the restaurant. And then it's what job would fit in the hiatus of Alias, and be just something different from what I was doing nine months a year. And then it became about how to surprise myself. I'm always driven by writing, so I do quirkier movies more than big, bold ones. Then it became about my kids' schedule, and being pregnant and nursing and where my husband was working, and how to fit it all in."
"And now it's whether they can shoot in L.A. while my kids are in school."
Earlier when she was honored with her star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she said that it's her kids that "define" her, not the star, reported Female First. "All of you here are the most special people in the world to me. Violet, Sera and Sam. Hi, buddy! And my parents and my sisters, my nieces and my nephews. For my children, when you walk over this star I want you to remember, first of all, that I love you. And that this is about hard work and good luck and not a whole lot else. You define me, not this wonderful spot on the pavement. Also, for the record, don't spend too much time on Hollywood Boulevard."
At the event, she also spoke about how working with the charity 'Save the Children', has influenced her. Her work has particularly been in the field of rural poverty, malnutrition, and hunger among kids. "We want to be able to feed the entire elementary-on-down set. And what you feed your child every day at lunch is such a huge part of that."
"We'll see kids with a round belly and think, 'That kid's not hungry,' but they actually really are," says Garner. "There are so many hungry kids in this country and so much rural poverty. Food deserts are a real problem."
Be it with her maternal instinct or just the urge to want to do good, the 47-year-old actress never fails to make you smile with her positive energy and an active lifestyle. While every parent goes through a phase where they struggle with trying to balance work and the growing responsibilities of home, Jennifer Garner shows she's no different by sharing how she eases the stress for herself.
