Idris Elba is the latest celebrity to have been tested positive. He asked people to take the virus outbreak seriously.
The coronavirus pandemic is turning into a global health crisis. After a few stars including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and Olga Kurylenko were the first to get tested as positive for the virus. The latest to make it to the news is actor Idris Elba, who informed his fans that he is one of the asymptomatic-patients tested positive.
According to CNN, the Sorted actor took to Twitter on 16 March 2020 to announce the news. He wrote," This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus." He further advised people to remain at home. "Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing No panic," wrote the 47-year-old actor.

He stated that the virus outbreak should be taken seriously and asked people to take the necessary measures to safeguard themselves from being exposed to the COVID-19. “Look, this is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands,” said the Golden-Globe winner, according to Variety. He added, "Look we live in a divided world right now...but now is a time for solidarity. It’s been bulls–t. But now is the time for solidarity, now is the time for thinking about each other. There are so many people whose lives have been affected."
He further informed his fans that he has been isolated since 13 March 2020, after he got exposed to someone who was tested positive. The post was accompanied by a video of him along with his wife, Sabrina. Meanwhile, he stated that his wife had not been tested yet and that she was doing ok.

Soon after his announcement, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson—who were in isolation at the Queensland hospital in Australia—announced that they were discharged, according to CNN. The couple who experienced colds, body aches, and chills announced their test results on Instagram on 12 March 2020. The couple will remain in self-quarantine for a while. "Thanks to the Helpers. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other. Hanx" wrote the 63-year-old actor on Twitter.
