A 13-year-old girl took the world by surprise after claiming she was pregnant with her 10-year-old boyfriend's child. Through her social media account, Daria "Dasha" Sudnishnikova showed off her 20-week old baby bump, making headlines in Russia. Her unusual story garnered a lot of attention, leading to thousands of followers in no time. Daria, who has over 152,000 followers on Instagram alone, recently turned 14 and she plans on monetizing her online presence, claiming to be an "influencer" now.
The teenager, who has accounts on other social mediums like TikTok, Snapchat, and Telegram, quickly rose to fame after appearing on a Russian TV show with her boyfriend Ivan. Their story also gave birth to various controversies surrounding her pregnancy. Urology and andrology expert Dr. Evgeny Grekov, expressed his reservation about the credibility of their claims saying that Ivan was too sexually immature to create sperms.
"We rechecked the laboratory results three times so there cannot be any mistake," said Dr. Grekov while speaking on the popular On-Air Live show, according to The Sun. "There cannot be sperm cells. He is still a child. There is even no testosterone. And just to add, he still has childish sex organs. Puberty has not started. So we have a lot of questions." Even the girl's 40-year-old neighbor expressed his doubts that Daria was impregnated by an older partner but now is simply pinning the blame on an innocent youngster.

However, Daria refuted these claims and was backed by psychologist Denis Davydov, who believed that the girl was not lying about it. Even her young boyfriend supported Daria and claimed paternity. The pair said the claims of the teen girl having an older sexual partner were baseless, reiterating that they had indulged in consensual intercourse with each other in the absence of Ivan's mother. During the TV show, Daria revealed, "It was Vanya's idea [to have sex]. But I did not mind. He closed the door leaving the key in the lock, so his mum could not open the door. It was a bit scary - that it would be painful. It was just a little - and then everything was normal. It was a bit shameful, we were just hiding under the blanket."

"I did not think that aged 10 he can do such things...I thought that nothing would happen," she added, according to Daily Mail. Undoubtedly, the controversial show had a lot to do with the unnecessary attention that both the kids began getting. Ever since they got famous, the couple has been bullied online, they claimed. Although there were doubts raised about their relationship as both are from different schools in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in Siberia, it was noted that both had been friends from an early age. The pair claimed it was 'love at first sight' when they met each other. The couple has listed themselves as married on their respective social media accounts, even though the legal age for marriage in Siberia is 18. Shortly after the revelation, an investigation was launched and the teenager's school was said to be cooperating with the process.

"On January 13, 2020, the police received information from doctors of the Federal State Budget Healthcare Institution of the city of Zheleznogorsk that a 14-year-old schoolgirl was pregnant. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia have launched an investigation and a decision will follow," revealed the police. According to SUN UK, Russian Media reported in February that Daria was actually raped by a 15-year-old boy named Stepan and that she had invested the story about Ivan. But she quickly hit back, telling her followers, "First of all, I don’t even know any Stepan." She denied the claim saying it was "complete nonsense."

As for her family, Daria's mother Elena has been quite supportive throughout the process. Speaking about the moment she found out about her daughter's pregnancy, the mom said, "Initially, we thought she had food poisoning, but slowly we started to realize that whatever was happening had nothing to do with her belly. We then bought a pregnancy test and it showed up positive." Elena, a terminal cancer patient, knew that abortion was not an option as it could cause complications in the future, thus swore to help her daughter raise the child, "Now I have a reason to live," expressed Elena who has been joined by Ivan's mother Galina, who is also willing to support the kids through this ordeal.
