Fun Test: The Way You Sleep Can Reveal a Lot About Your True Personality

Little bits of your personality can come out when you're doing something that comes naturally to you... like sleeping.

After a long day, who doesn't love to just fall into bed, snuggle up and travel to their personal dream world? The feel of the pillow under your head and your body relaxed is a hard experience to beat. Whether you're stretched out on your back or curled up in your favorite position, it's a moment of peace in a chaotic world.

However, did you know that the way you sleep can actually do more than just give your body a break but actually reveal more about your personality?

“When you think about it,” says Dr. David Greuner of NYC Surgical Associates, "most people spend six or more hours per day sleeping, so of course your sleeping position reveals a lot about you," according to Cosmopolitan. So what does your sleeping position say about you as a person?

1. Fetal position

According to Psychology Today, if you like sleeping curled up like a baby still in the womb, you might be the kind of person who tends to be sensitive and desires comfort. And though you may be organized and hardworking, you tend to deal with a lot of anxiety, especially when it stems from overthinking things. While you generally like to keep to yourself, those who know you, know how warm-hearted and generous you are.

2. Sleeping on the back

If you're someone who's favorite sleeping position is on your back, you're most probably self-confident. You know what you want in life and aren't afraid to take the steps to get there.

However, your stubborn and self-critical nature might force you to have high expectations not just for yourself, but for others too and that can cause strain in your relationships. Depending on whom you're with, you tend to be reserved with acquaintances but relaxed and open-minded with loved ones.

3. Snuggling with a pillow

If you like to hug a pillow while sleeping on your side, then you may be the kind of person who craves intimacy and values deep relationships. Romantic gestures probably mean a lot to you. But while you like to be told how much you're loved, you prefer practical things like help around the house or taking care of errands as tokens of genuine love.

However, if you sleep with a pillow between your legs, you're the kind of person who likes to be in comfort and enjoy the finer things in life without being a snob about it.

4. Sleeping on the stomach

If you sleep on your stomach, according to The Sleep Doctor, you might be the kind of person who is meticulous and hard-working. However, in your attempt to achieve perfection, you tend to become defensive and sensitive to criticism. This is because you hold yourself to such high standards, that anything that tries to change that brings out your insecurities. Yet, despite all this, your warm and generous heart is what draws people to you and your loyalty is what makes them stay your friend or loved one.

5. Freestyler

If you end up in various parts of the bed in different positions, you may be the type of person who is well-balanced. You know how to be serious and dedicated to your loved ones and your dreams but also know how to let go and have fun when the mood requires it. This balance also applies to caring about others. You may drop everything to help your loved ones but that doesn't mean you forget to take care of yourself. Your flexibility helps you handle various situations.

6. Sleeping on the side

If you like sleeping on your side, you might be the kind of person who is relaxed, open-minded and have a knack for compromising. Additionally, these traits allow your creativity to flow better. However, you also tend to trust a little too easily, giving others the opportunity to take advantage of you. That is why you rely on all the knowledge you gain through your curiosity to help you hone better judgment.
