Joe Miles did not expect he would lose his entire family in a day. The man is left to face life alone without his dear ones.
No matter what you are going through in life, you know you will always have your family by your side. Your partner's encouraging words and the silly jokes of your children and cousins will just make you forget the sorrows of life. It brightens up your day and lifts up your spirits. But, just thinking of living without them is heartbreaking. It leaves you empty inside. A father from Alabama was forced to face such a fate.
According to WSET, Joe Miles and his family lived in their houseboat at Jackson County Park after moving from Tennessee. His wife Annette was a stay-at-home mom and his children were homeschooled.
However, an unfortunate event destroyed their lives and took away Miles's happiness forever. On 27 January 2020, a fire engulfed the marina dock where the family was present. Though everyone tried to escape the incident, only Joe Miles could save himself.
The man, a father of five, lost all his children, Dezli Nicole Miles, 7; Kesston Damien Miles, 9; Traydon Dominic Miles, 10; Bryli Long, 16; and Christopher Zane Long, 19, and his wife in the devastating fire.
Miles was rescued from the water while everyone else lost their lives. The man suffering third-degree burns is heartbroken after realizing he lost everything especially his loving family. "No one should have to go through the pain of losing a child, especially not 5 plus his wife... He has lost his home, everything he owns, everything was replaceable, except for his family," stated the man's sister-in-law, Kayla Wormsley.
Kayla stated that Miles was heartbroken and needed the prayers of everybody. “All he’s asking for is prayer,” stated the woman. However, she started a GoFund Me to support him who had lost everything he owned in the fire. "We continue to ask for prayers in this tragic time. I would like to personally thank everyone so much for everything that has already done. God Bless! The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" Psalm 34:18," wrote the woman on the Page.
Apart from Miles's family two others also lost their lives. The fire also destroyed several other boats on the dock.
