Daniel Craig's Love Made Rachel Weisz Go From Hating Marriage to "I’m Very Happy Being Married, I love Being Mrs. Craig"

Rachel Weisz never thought she would get married but just 6 months into knowing the James Bond star, she decided to tie the knot.

We often tend to plan a lot in advance whether it is about love or relationship. However, meeting the right kind of person can make us rethink our plans. It can make us do the things we would never have done otherwise. Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz went through this. She never considered herself to be the one who wanted to settle in marriage. But, when Daniel Craig came along, sparks flew and there was no waiting to be one in love.

It wasn't love at first sight for the two. Before they became a romantic couple, the two were friends for years. "I'm going to change the subject... It wasn't really like that. We'd been friends for ages," said the actress on being asked about falling in love, as per Harper's Bazaar. They met each other at art college but it took them years to be romantically attracted. Before they found each other, the two were involved in other relationship.

However, in 2010, the two friends were cast in the movie, Dream House. That movie was just the beginning of their crazy love. Their charming chemistry onscreen was slowing translating offscreen. Being very private individuals, they left the public guessing for a while.

In January 2011, the couple got quietly married giving a rest to the never-ending guessing game. They tied the knot less than six months after reports that they were dating had surfaced. It was being with Craig made her change her outlook towards marriage. Weiz is happy about her decision and calls it a "mature moment."

"But I never thought I would get married. It was not an ambition of mine. It was the opposite. I couldn’t relate to romantic comedies – marriage seems to be the whole point of them. Then it just happened, happily, at a more mature moment," said the 49-year-old actress, according to Metro.

Married for 8 years now, the couple has always been protective of their relationship.  "He's just too famous. It would be a betrayal. You have to protect your marriage. When you're young, you tell your girlfriends everything. One of the great pleasures of not being an adolescent is that you don't have to share everything. When you're married, that door closes. The audience goes, and you're in your own life," said Weisz to Marie Claire.

In 2018, the lovely couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Before the arrival of their daughter, the proud mamma shared her excitement. "Daniel and I are so happy. We’re going to have a little human. We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s all such a mystery."

Despite being busy celebrities, they prefer enjoying their personal lives away from the public's eye at home.  They said that they enjoy being home and cooking together. "I love to cook. Daniel is also very good at it. We always enjoy trying out different kinds of cuisine and having fun with that," said The Favourite Star. They also added that they never discuss work at home. "There is nothing worse than two actors getting together and talking about acting. It’s like the end — it’s the worst," said Weisz to Sun in 2013. As years have gone by, the couple keeps their romance alive and enjoys quality time with each other.

Though Weisz was once apprehensive about getting married, today there is nothing more that makes her happy than being married. "I’m very happy being married, very, very happy... I love being Mrs. Craig... I’m Mrs. Craig on my checkbooks and passports and things."
