Some songs are meant to stop your heartbeat and remind you of someone you miss terribly. Chris Young's song "Drowning" will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

The best thing about human beings is our ability to connect and relate to emotions. Be it joy, sorrow, or pain, every individual might have gone through these phases at some point in their life. At these times of high and low points, music tends to be that inevitable ingredient. The power of music is so real that many of us might have songs that relate to specific emotional memories. Country music star Chris Young has released a new song about his tragic loss that those of us who have been in similar places will relate to.

According to USA Today, the singer has released an emotional track called "Drowning" from his upcoming album Raised On Country. The song, written in memory of the singer's friend who passed away, will bring tears to your eyes with its heartbreaking lyrics and soulful singing. Young debuted the song at the Grand Ole Opry, where he broke down in tears, unable to complete the song. "When I sang it on the Opry, it's about a friend of mine that passed away. I've never really written anything like that before. I've been fine every single time that I've sung it, until that night. I just came apart as I got to the second verse. I was like, 'Oh man. I'm gonna cry.' And I did. And so I turned around to reset, and then everybody stood up and started clapping. We just played the rest of the song out. But it's an incredibly powerful song," said Young in an interview with Pop culture

The song, co-written with Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, is clearly very personal and close to Young. The song which starts with the lyrics, "I know you're in a better place. One day I'll see you again," and will touch anyone who has gone through the loss of a dear one. Since Young's performance at the Opry, many people have shared how the song relates to some tragic events in their lives. "Since then so many people have shared stories of loved ones lost and how they have connected to this song. I want you guys to have this one, and make it your own, so I’m going to release it this Friday."

The album, which is said to be very different from the artist's typical style, will also include collaborations with Kane Brown, Brad Paisley, and Riley Green. Young is currently on his  Raised on Country Tour and said that he is incredibly proud of his new album. He also added the album will also have some fun tracks but "Drowning" is his personal favorite.
