Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky have an age gap of 7 years but nothing has affected their happy married life.
Marriage is a big decision and it is quite common for couples to enjoy a long courtship before tying the knot. However, some couples are fortunate to feel that instant connection. They might not have reached a one year mark or celebrated Valentine's Day together, but they know they have truly found the one. Celebrity couple Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are such a kind.
The Thor actor met his lady love in 2010. After feeling their evident chemistry, the two decided to date each other. To everyone's surprise, just three months into the relationship, they decided to make it official. Speaking to Elle, Hemsworth said, "There was no light-bulb moment. From the first time we met, we just made sense. She's fun. She's outgoing, and she has a sense of humor and a passionate attitude toward life, which is nice to try to keep up with."
He even admitted that the wedding was spontaneous. The couple was vacationing with their families and felt it was the right time for them to be united. “Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said, ‘This is a good opportunity with everyone together.’ So, we just did it,” admitted the 36-year-old, according to Cheatsheet. However, Pataky admitted she had her doubts initially especially because of their 7-year age gap. She thought Hemsworth was too young to start a family with.
"I think any time you start a family without knowing each other that much, it can be complicated... He was very young to be starting a family, and at the same time he was juggling that with his career and it was sometimes difficult, there was so much going on," stated Pataky. But time proved her final decision of marrying him was right.
Today, they have been together for almost 10 years and Hemsworth has proved to be a great husband and a wonderful father to their three children — India Rose, Sasha, and Tristan. In addition to that, the actor has never shied away from expressing his love for Pataky. "Each week I find something different, more I love about her. It continues to grow, which is a great thing," told the actor, according to Pop Sugar. Watching his wife take the role of a caring mother was another factor that increased his love for her.
"Watching her be a mother made me fall even more in love with her. Once we had kids we were like, ‘We’re in it, this is it.’ All of a sudden I had a greater appreciation for my wife, she kind of came into her own when we had kids. She certainly keeps me sane. I complain about things, she gets on with it," said the father of three, according to ET.
The actor along with his wife and kids are known to spend quality time with each other. Undoubtedly, family is everything for both of them. In 2019, Hemsworth even announced a sabbatical just to be with his kids and wife. “This year I probably won’t shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids. They are at a very important age," said the star, according to Metro.
Hemsworth and Pataky's seemingly effortless marriage can give pointers to many couples with a big age gap, especially where the woman is older. Their dynamic relationship and boundless love is nothing but an inspiration.
