Chadwick Boseman got engaged in October 2019.
Hollywood was in tears when they lost Chadwick Boseman, the Black Panther star to cancer. The death of the talented actor came as a shock to many and they could not believe he was no more. According to Daily Mail, the actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles with his family by his side. Months before his death, the actor asked his girlfriend, Taylor Simone, to be a part of his life.
The 42-year-old star got married to Simone ten months after the pair got engaged. Boseman is known to have popped the question during a date night in Malibu in October 2019.
Sources confirmed the engagement and said, "Chadwick and Simone got engaged. It was a long time coming and everyone is really happy." The wedding reportedly took place recently.
Though the couple never announced their marriage publicly, the statement released on his social media accounts addressed Simone as his wife. "He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time," said the statement posted on the actor's Instagram account.
Boseman's romance with Simone, a singer who graduated from California State Polytechnic University was confirmed in 2015. The couple was spotted by the paparazzi at Los Angeles International airport. However, the actor never spoke of his relationship publicly. But the couple began to be regularly seen together.

She once commented on a picture of Boseman with co-star Lupita Nyong'o and stated, "His real life queen is gorgeous, and together they embody true love. Not to mention they would make some beautiful babies," according to Daily Mail.
According to Daily Star, Boseman gave a shoutout to his beloved during the 2019 NAACP Image Awards. He said, "Simone, you’re with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you," during his acceptance speech. The camera that panned back at Simone showed her mouthing "I love you."
They were last seen together while the two attended the NBA All-Star Game in Chicago in February 2020. They looked happy and joked with each other throughout the game.
While Simone did not come out with an individual statement after the death, the family wrote, "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV," according to Instagram.
They continued, "A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther."
