Celine Dion, the sensational singer, and performer was fortunate to experience unconditional love from her husband, Rene Angelil. Not only was he her partner but also the strongest pillar in her career. So, when he died in 2016, Dion was deeply affected. However, her final conversation with her husband pushed her forward.
“I closed the door, so the children wouldn’t sense anything. I got on my knees and I kissed him. It was the coldest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life, but it was amazing. I said, ‘Promise me not to worry. I’m fine, the kids are great, we’re gonna be okay. It’s enough suffering. Just go in peace'," she said, according to People. The singer, unable to control her pain, lay down next to her dead husband. She recalled saying, "You were worrying for my career. You were worrying for the children. You were worrying for everything. It's enough," according to ABC News.

Though she managed to hold back her tears for a while, she could not bear to see his body being removed from their home. “When they took him away, I chased the truck a little, like it was my kids going to school for the first day," stated the grief-stricken singer.
He was her true love and the only man she was ever with. Dion met Angelil when she was just 12-years-old. The Canadian music producer was confident in Dion's talent and took her on board. "I thought he was very beautiful," she said. "He looked great. I felt confident that this man was not treating me as a, ‘Oh, hi, little pumpkin.’ Or, ‘Hi, little sweetie,’ or like a little baby," she told CBS News.

When the singer turned 19, the two started dating despite their 26-year age gap. Dion's career took off and so did her relationship with Angelil. At the age of 26, the singer married her 52-year-old talent manager. However, just five years later, they discovered devastating news. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer and the couple decided to the illness together. Though they fought cancer once, it returned. This time, Angelil lost his battle leaving Dion with their kids.

As promised to her husband, she started to manage her career with him. "It took a while to record the album. It was a process. Losing a half of you, because we were partners, we were one. This is actually my first English album without him by my side, so that was emotional. At the same time something that was telling me that, 'You know, it’s ok,'" she told Good Morning Britain. She also took upon the responsibilities of a single mother. "Being a single parent gives me even more of something powerful – they need me so much," said Dion to Metro.

In spite of losing him, Dion still leaves in the memories of her husband. "Even though he’s not physically here, he’s part of me. I see him every day through the eyes of my children," said the singer. She even admitted that she was still in love with him, according to CBS.
