Celine Dion has one of the most beautiful love stories that one might have ever heard. Remembering her husband René Angélil on his fifth death anniversary, the singer revealed that she cherished him to this day.

According to People, the singer posted an emotional and touching post to honor her late husband. The My Heart Will Go On actress wrote, "René, it's been 5 years already… There's not one day that we don't think about you." She further added, "We're reaching out to you now more than ever, to guide us, protect us, and continue to watch over us. And we pray that you'll shine your love on the entire world, to all those at this very moment, who are facing incredibly difficult times."

The singer concluded the post by saying, "You are in our hearts and in our lives forever. We love you, Celine, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy xx…"

Dion lost her husband to cancer in 2016. After years of battling the deadly illness, he died at the age of 74. The days leading to his death was painful for Dion who loved her husband immensely. However, she faced it bravely.

"I am scared of losing him, because it’s bad. But I have to show myself, my husband, and my kids that I’m strong and we’re okay," said the mother of three at the time, according to People

Married for 22 years, their love was nothing different than their initial days of romance. So when René passed away, Dion was shattered beyond measure. "There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile. We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you," wrote Dion on one of her tribute posts.

Besides being a loving husband, René was also the singer's manager and constant cheerleader. In fact, it was he who discovered the talent in Dion when she was only 12.

According to People, René signed the artist after she impressed him with a demo tape of a song she wrote with her mother. The determined man mortgaged his house and helped Dion release her first debut album La Voix Du Bon Dieu.

Years after working together, the couple fell in love. In 1994, Dion tied the knot with René. Since then, they shared a great life together and faced every challenge courageously. After his death, Dion revealed her husband's last wish was to die in her arms. She also assured him that she would remain strong for their children.

Despite René's death, Dion is still in love with him. "I don't date. I don't have a boyfriend. It doesn't mean that I will not find someone in my life. If I do, that would be great. If I don't, that would be great, because I'm still in love," said the singer in 2019, according to USA Today. She added, "René is still within me. I see him through the eyes of my children everyday. I'm so passionate about life, and I'm so lucky to have my three beautiful sons. But I keep everything open."

Dion's love for René is unreal and rare.
