A bride from Canada called off her wedding after she did not get the funds from her guests to go ahead with the expensive ceremony she dreamed off.
Having a fairy tale wedding can be an expensive affair. It is the day you celebrate your love so wanting everything to be perfect is not a tall order. And wanting to share your special day with those who love and cherish you is only natural. But is asking them to pay for your big day a reasonable request? Well, one bride thought it was a reasonable demand.
Unlike other brides, this one decided to fund her wedding with the cash gifts she demanded from the people who wanted to celebrate with her and her groom. The guests were informed that they could only attend the wedding if they were willing to agree to what she thought was a reasonable request.
When she realized that most of them were not in favor of her idea, the bride went ahead and canceled the wedding. She even went as far as to send an apology letter blaming her guests for it.
Mirror Online stated that the bride, Susan sent a note to her friends and family informing them about the cancelation of her wedding just four days before the big day. While the letter stated that the bride and groom "have broken up due to some recent and irreparable problems", Susan was forced to call off the fairy tale wedding because her guests refused to contribute $1,500 each as a gift to the bride and groom.

The bride and the groom managed to save $15,000 for the wedding. However, her dream wedding would cost her $60,000. So the bride decided to ask her guests to help her organize her "extravagant blow out wedding" and was clearly not having it when things did not go as planned. "I specifically, I mean specifically asked for cash gifts. How could we have our wedding that we dreamed of without proper funding? We'd sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1,500," asked the bride through the letter whose screenshots was later posted on Mumsnet.
In the letter, the bride further went on to justify her demand and blamed her guests. "So our request for $1,500 for all other guests was not f*****g out of the ordinary. Like, we made it clear. If you couldn't contribute, you weren't invited to our exclusive wedding. It's once and a lifetime party. After sending out the invitations, only eight guests RSVP'd with their check of $1,500. We were f*****g livid," the bride wrote.
The woman who seemed to feel she was right about her decisions also added that her ex's family offered her $3,000 and her maid of honor promised her $5,000 along with her planning services.
However, things took a different turn when her in-laws, as well as the maid of honor, retracted the offer. Though her fiance suggested a cheap and simple Vegas wedding, the adamant bride was not ready to give up easily. The fiance who was fed up called her a "stuck up b***h" and broke off the relationship.

The post that went viral grabbed the attention of many. Some laughed at the bride and poked fun at her demands. Others wanted to confirm if the story was real. A woman who claimed to be her cousin confirmed that it was all true and extensively talked about the spendthrift bride who enjoys a high life and idolizes the Kardashians.
