Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston divorced in 2005. Though they did not speak to each other for years, the couple recently reunited as good friends.
The scars of a broken relationship often stay with us for a long time. But breaking up does not mean we have to remain hostile to our exes. After all, once upon a time, we loved them. Though the general societal beliefs are against exes becoming friends, some couples have shown us it is very much possible. Hollywood celebrities, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have become the talk of the town after they patched up their lost friendship following their divorce in 2005.
Attending the SAG Awards on 19 January 2020, the stars displayed their admiration and appreciation for each other, according to Mirror. Jennifer, who appeared in a white silk gown, was seen having a good laugh as her ex-husband Brad Pitt delivered his hilarious acceptance speech after winning for Best Supporting Actor.
As he joked of his failed marriage, the camera panned right to Aniston, who was seen keenly listening and clapping. Another video posted in the official Instagram account of the SAG Awards showed Brad Pitt in awe of Aniston as she took to stage to accept her award. He stood next to the screen backstage and watched her phenomenal speech after accepting the award for the outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for The Morning Show.
The ex-couple also greeted each other when they reunited in the backstage. Pictures showed a very cheerful Aniston and Pitt sharing an adorable moment. These moments have caught the attention of fans. However, this is not the first time Pitt and Aniston openly displayed their friendship. During the 2020 Golden Globes, cameras caught similar reactions from both the actors. Added to that, Pitt spoke to Entertainment Tonight on how he might run into his "good friend" Jen. "I'll run into Jen. She's a good friend. The second most important reunion of her year," said the Once upon a time in Hollywood actor.
Sources also stated that the ex-couple exchanged a short friendly conversation at the after-party. “They said hello very quickly. Jen arrived after Brad. It was brief, but [they] were very cordial and friendly and seemed happy to be there. They approached each other once they saw each other inside and looked happy as they started to hug and say hello. Jen whispered something to Brad, but it wasn’t in an affectionate way," said a source.
Apart from being cordial at award nights, the couple also showed their friendship on other occasions. Aniston invited Pitt to his birthday bash in February 2019. Not only did he attend the party but he also sent her a gift before the party. “Her friends were happy to see Brad at the party. Whatever caused their divorce is long in the past. Brad and Jen have a very civil relationship," said a source according to People.
Clearly, their divorce and the heartbreak that happened 15 years ago is in the past. Though Aniston has admitted she was hurt by Brad's relationship with Angelina Joli during her marriage with him, she seems to have finally forgiven Pitt.
