While some sympathized with her situation, some fans questioned why she chose to post it on Twitter than calling her daughter privately. Beth responded to the question saying, "Because she doesn't answer my calls and has us blocked so I'm going to reach my child how I see fit," quoted Pop Culture.

[I've] been blessed with my kids and my bonus kids I love them all equally," said the star on Twitter.

Fans related to her as she talked about her struggles with cancer and the support she received from her fans. "My life would not have been the same without them, however, at the end when they are not there you wonder if you ever meant anything to them at all," she wrote. She also revealed that she decided not to take chemo on Mother's Day placing her hope in God.

However, her step-daughter broke the silence and responded to the tweet. She wrote, "So just to recap. 1. I did write on Mother's Day. 2. You had no plans to attend Abbie's graduation as you're off island. 3. You and Dad are not blocked and you know it." She assured her mother that she had not intentionally excluded her out of their life. Although Lyssa hasn't had the best relationship with her family, she had asked fans to pray for Beth in 2018 when cancer was discovered in her throat and lungs.
