He took his own computers, phones and everything away and was completely isolating.
Although it has been five years since his divorce, Ashton Kutcher is still open about his struggle post the split with Demi Moore. When the couple divorced in 2013, Kutcher went to the mountains and fasted for a week to reflect on his life. Kutcher and Moore were married for six years before splitting up, and it wasn't long before he found love again with his old That 70's Show co-star Mila Kunis.
Kutcher, 40, said in an interview in Dax Shepard‘s new podcast, Armchair Expert, "Right after I got divorced, I went to the mountains for a week by myself. I went into Big Sky in Montana, and I did no food, no drink — just water and tea," he said to People.

He shared that he went completely out of the public eye and, "took all my computers away, my phone, my everything." He added, "I was there by myself so there was no talking, and I just had a notepad and a pen and water and tea for a week."
While the austere surroundings may appear to be salt in the wound following a breakup, Kutcher stated that he appreciated the experience. He said, "I started to hallucinate on like day 2 which was fantastic. It was pretty wonderful. I was doing tai chi with my own energy." Kutcher laughed when Shepard asked whether he had any expertise with the martial art style. He said, "No, I was just doing what came to me."
He also opted to reflect on his previous relationships with previous romantic partners. He said, "I wrote down every single relationship that I had where I felt like there was some grudge or some anything and then I wrote letters to every single person and sent the letters on day seven." Kutcher did not disclose how the letters were received by his ex-partner, but he did remark the process was cathartic for him.
He added, "It was almost like an A.A. exercise, where I was like, ‘I probably have done some damage,’ so I just cleared [my] palate."
Moore and Kutcher tied the knot in 2005. When they parted ways six years later, they issued separate statements. Kutcher said, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately, sometimes they fail."
Moore said in a separate statement, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."
In 2015, Kutcher married Mila Kunis. They have two children: a 3-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle and a 1-year-old boy Dimitri Portwood.
