This Christmas will be special for all fans of the 70s sitcom, "The Brady Bunch."
For most of us, TV sitcoms were an integral aspect of our childhoods. Just thinking of these sitcoms evokes nostalgia. One such sitcom that has been a part and parcel of our carefree lives was The Brady Bunch. The comedy-drama fiction brought the concept of blended families into our living rooms in the 70s. The show was more than just an entertainer. It influenced the societal beliefs that existed at the time and shaped the way we think. So, here is a piece of exciting news for fans of the show.
According to People, the six original Brady kids are set to make your Christmas extra special. All six Brady kids will celebrate Christmas onscreen through the show, A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition. The show will be aired on HGTV on 16 December 2019 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The stars, Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) will be joined by Jasmine Roth, the star of HGTV’s Hidden Potential and Ree Drummond from Food Network’s Pioneer Woman.
"We have remarkable star experts across every area of lifestyle content, so of course we’re inviting Food Network star Ree Drummond to HGTV’s Brady holiday episode. Along with Jasmine Roth and the Brady siblings, we've assembled a dream team to create the ultimate holiday programming event," said Jane Latman, the president of HGTV in a release.
The group is known to entertain its audience by decking up the newly-renovated Brady house along with a 70s inspired Christmas feast. Drummond will help the sitcom stars prepare some fondue-style potatoes, a gelatin fruit salad and “santapes”(Christmas canapes) in the Brady kitchen. Meanwhile, Roth will be in charge of some holiday-inspired projects and will bring out her DIY skills to the show. The episode will end when all of them gather around for a Christmas feast around the tree.
A Very Brady Renovation was first aired in September. It was what brought back the Brady kids to television after 15 years. The show paired the sitcom stars with HGTV designers to renovate the iconic house that served as their home in the series 1969 to 1974. Each Brady star was paired with a designer to transform a room of the house based on their memories of the set.
In addition to the Brady siblings, Property Brothers stars, Jonathan and Drew Scott, Good Bones’ Mina Starsiak and Karen E Laine, Flea Market Flip’s Lara Spencer, Restored by the Fords siblings, Leanne and Steve Ford are also part of the show.
