Jean Phillips was reunited with her daughter decades after being separated 42 years ago. Jean Phillips, gave up her daughter, Jennifer Phillips, for adoption when Jean was just fifteen years old after being forced by her family to give the baby up, reported WKRG. Jane Phillips gave birth to Jennifer when she was a teenager. Jane was unaware of her pregnancy and when she was educated about it, one of her family asked her to Jennifer up for adoption. A family member had arranged the adoption through an agency in Pensacola because they believed she was too young to raise a child. Jennifer was adopted by a family from Idaho, and they lost touch ever since.

Jennifer shares her experience with her foster parents where she admits that she had a very happy and loving family and also led a happy life. But the thought of knowing who her biological mother is has always been on her mind. “I remember looking around thinking, ‘Could she be my mother?’ Just thinking there is someone else in this world that I look like,” Jennifer said. Both the women searched for each other for 10 years and finally decided to hit the same adoption center for any hint or detail.

They finally made the connection through a Pensacola adoption agency and decided to reunite at the Fairhope Pier. In the video shared it could be heard Jean say over and over again, “That’s my baby,” as she walked toward her “little girl.” The two hugged for what seemed like 15 minutes. Jennifer also brought her children and husband so her kids could meet their biological grandmother. “It’s real, like a full circle, and I see her now, she’s beautiful. We are so connected,” Jean said. “To know this has given her closure and just helping her heart be at peace made my soul happy,” Jennifer said.

Jane also expressed how she still finds Jennifer the same as when she was taken away from her. “She has the same hands she had as a little baby. I used to hold her finger. Her hands are just as they were when they took her away. She has the same everything,” Jean said.
